The Ghost and Molly McGee reaction season 1 episode 8 "Monumental Disaster" and "Talent Show". I review at the end too, so stick around for that!
Brighton praises its hero Ezekiel "Tug" Tugbottom by unveiling his statue. Molly meets him as a ghost and while happy at first, she quickly discovers that he is a blowhard and does not appear all that heroic and more concerned with his popularity.
Libby accidentally signs up for the talent show when she was trying to sign up for the crew. Molly pushes her to go forward with a singing act, only to learn that she is terrible at it. Scratch wants her to fail miserably, as talent shows are considered high on misery points, but Molly does everything she can to stop her from performing.

To risk sounding like a broken record, I again thought these episodes were good, for the reasons you provided. Especially in the first; I didn’t expect the show to go there for the theme, and it was a happy surprise that it did, because, like you said, erasure of one’s contributions (especially with minority groups) is a real historical issue. I especially respect that, while the show was gearing the lesson towards women, it never actually stated such (not to imply that there would be anything wrong with that; that would have been a completely fair choice on the creators’ end), and thus doesn’t exclude others whose mark on history has been usurped.

Women are majority and yeah starting create idea all men contributions through history were all stolen from women. And real life female soldiers in Afghanistan were first to drop their weapons and run

That is next episode, and it's called Scratch The Surface. Libby said these exact words, in different context, at the end of Monumental Disaster. They're playing this very smart with this episode airing right before that, and the last line of Talent Show just basically telling us that she will tell Libby!

Ezekiel Tugbottom is probably a local variant of Pecos Bill, having an old style western ballad dedicated to him, with a story about lassoing a tornado.

The song in particular seemed very reminiscent of Disney’s take on Folktale of Davy Crocket! 🎵“Davy, Davy Crocket! King of the last frontier!” 🎵

Yeah, the problem with how history is taught in the United States, is that it's treated as a way of sowing national pride into kids, instead of actually teaching kids about what happened in the past. I mean, you can't even point out the fact that the founding fathers were slave owners without having people try to defend them. Like they don't need to be defended; they did some good things, some bad things, they were human beings, not gods who created the best country in the world. National pride should come from the here and now, while still being aware of what problems your country has, so that it can be improved, not by deifying people from the past

The next episode is about trying to hide scratch from Libby because apparently scratch gets less scary the more people know about him Also I just noticed scratch turns white whenever someone comes around probably representing him turning invisible to someone

This episode established two things 1. Libby is a great detective and she can actually uncover many secrets or supernatural things that happens in the world 2. Andrea is actually a character that you love and hate a good amount

Great reaction! About the first segment, I really liked that it didn't come of as preachy while still talking about the topic! Also love Libby in this, and really liked the ending "basking" bit! About the second segment, I really loved it! I don't want to sound mean, but I really like the "misery" in this episode and Scratches reaction to it all, and that Libby still went out and preformed! Also on a loosely related note, that ending bit about being completely honest with Libby and then lying immediately reminds me of Rick and Morty episode 1 where they had a similar joke!

I loved how in the first episode they learned a new fact about the history, updated their view of it and changed the statue in consequence. I mean... It's the obvious thing to do imo but people always get so defensive and opposed to learning new things and revisiting history even tho it's so necessary.

A Lot Of People Think A Molly/Andrea Ship Will Be Coming, Mainly Because Lumity is Officially A Thing, But I Find A Molly/Libby Ship More Realistic, Especially After This Episode, At Least Amity Showed A Few Redeeming Qualities By This Point, But Andrea, Need I Remind You What She Did To Molly's Movie?
