Would Steve Mariucci still be the 49ers head coach if they'd drafted Tom Brady?

Just think, If Brady would have been drafted by another team, Belechick would have been a footnote as just another coach.

Can you imagine if the 49ers went from Joe Montana to Steve Young to Tom Brady? They'd have been #1 in the NFL for SIX decades straight with 14 Super Bowl titles- as Brady would've beat Mahomes last year too.

Mariucchi drafted the goat farmer instead of drafting the actual GOAT. Easy enough mistake to make.
Brady became the 🐐 and Carmazzi became a goat farmer. How interesting...

I’m pissed off at Steve for not drafting Brady in 2001 Niners could of won 14 Super Bowls

Bill Walsh wanted Gio. Do you think 4th year head coach Steve Mariucci was going to tell Bill Walsh he was WRONG? It's nice of Mooch to not blame Walsh now that he's gone, either.

That was a combination of a kid hidden deep in the draft with a lot of heart and talent, And great coaching ! Which is exactly why Sam Darnold needs to stay with the Jets to work with a decent coaching staff.

Brady maybe a GOAT, but Carmazzi has 5 Goats so...
For Mooch and Rex to think they will still be coaching, and have same level of success, had they drafted Tom is a crazy idea. Tom would have been great anywhere, but current level of success was only possible under Belichick. Had he gone anywhere else, he would have been retired long ago, possibly with 1 or 2 rings. His rock was polished into rare diamond under Belichick's program. Under an average coach, he would have been half his shiny self.

@Calum Fitzpatrick I am not saying that Brady wouldn't have been great without Belichick; no way of knowing it. But having seen many average teams/coaches being talent killers; not being able to harvest best out of their players, is what concerns me with Brady blooming to his best under them.

@@chrishaswell4405 Got to agree with you. Followed Brady all year, and great to see him with #7. Hopefully Belichick can bounce back after COVID season, as I want both Pats and Brady to do well :-)

@@chrishaswell4405 If we stopped the season after week 12, the 7-5 record shows what a bad/stupid coach can do even to a GOAT. Glad they got to their senses and let Brady coach after that. But if this was during the initial phases of Brady's career, the coach would have continued with his 'no risk-it, no bisk-it' and would have royally screwed the team, Brady and his 'potential' legacy. So glad that Brady was with Belichick during his initial phase, where he was able to grow into the GOAT he is. But agree that IT was always in him.
