Arkava Goswami Wow okay... Well, a HD500X is HALF the price of the GE300, I'd take that into consideration. I would almost go ahead and say their sound is very close, you'll just get older technology with the POD... tough question

So they did some improvent because the most important deal for me is the switching between effects patches and the latency.

@@hadriancao955 The save naming function has been updated. I've emailed to them about assigning max/min parameter values for on/off CTRL. Got my reply. I guess that feature only available in BOSS multifx, haven't seen anyone else doing that yet

Yeah man. IMO the Hotone stuff is miles better than mooer. Especially with the new ampero 2 “stomp” currently out. Do you agree?

I think you just have to tweak, and not asking more than the pedal can give you men, I have Pod Xt and It sounds amazing (You cannot compare a Pod Xt with these two)

@@insight_yv I think it is great. The only down side is that the amount of effects and amps you can use are kind of limited, also the signal chain are not as flexible as the Helix family. But I would say that I the Headrush Stock Amps and distortions sound are more prefereable and easier to get good sound for me.

@@gauravlama2079 I would say that I love the stock amps sound of the Headrush more than what Helix offer. And what realy catch me is the ability to change to a new rig without a pause in the sound. It is help me a lot as a Shoegaze/Alternative guitarist which need to swap around a lot of different sound in the song.

Do the delay trails carry on when switched off within a patch?

@@thecalmcommotion6204 Doesnt seem like it judgeing from that part of the video i linked to, there is no delay or reverb at all after he shuts them off. The gap bothers me much more though, even if that gap was during patch swithing it wouldnt be ideal these days, it wouldnt bother me much for patch switch though. As far as i remember the delay trails carry on after switching off the delay on my Boss GT-pro, not when patch switching though, possibly if you have the same delay in the patch you are switching to, i dont remember. Delay trails isnt an important feature to me , when i switch sounds live i feel it can even be an advantage that you get a distinct break from the sound you had before. That gap when switching off/on delay and reverb within a patch like in the clip is more of a dealbreaker to me, if it were when patch swithing it would be ok although not ideal, but when switching on/off effects its a big no no.

@@Stefan- yeah my gt10 within a patch the delay Trails continue when I turn the effect off, and I actually definitely need that to happen for some of my patches, in between patches I'm not that concerned but within a patch the delay trails have got to carry on when the effect is turned off

The modern day guitarist and consumer is absolutely lazy. I personally also don´t want to spend hours trying to make something sound good because creativity and inspiration need something interesting in the first place ;) This is not my last video about the GE300, I will talk about the Tone Capture in another video, also creating more metal tones. I absolutely agree that you should watch more than 1 video if you are thinking about getting gear. Regarding all the (almost too) positive reviews, I wanted to bring some scepticism into the game. Life´s too short to agree with everyone ;)

had the ge200 for a while, didn't sound great out the box...but some time spent....and some custom IR's imported......a beast that you'd be proud to gig with.....just takes some effort

Atomic amplifire only has good amp modelling, IR and drive, the rest of its effects are terrible for that price range

Mooer GE 300 sounds better than both of these you mention, except for the Headrush in my opinion.

Apparently they fixed it by now with a software update I think!

In total honesty: no idea man, and I also absolutely don't care about this stuff anymore... this was 5 years ago, I haven't followed the guitar gear world in the last 2-3 years at all, so unfortunately I have no more opinion on this, sorry...

Boss GT1 has 2 generic FX blocks for which you can choose a variety of boss effects (such as their pedals). The other blocks are preassigned (such as 1 NS block, 1 reverb block, 1 delay block etc). You can download tone studio software to look at the signal chain as it works without the unit itself. I would prefer it had 1 compression, 1 chorus and 1 equalizer effect block additionally too. But you do not need these as often actually. For instance, you need OS/DS, chrous and compression to get a solo sound, you need overtone and pitch shifter to get an organ sound etc. But it would have helped definitely especially the equalizer. But you could put a real equalizer pedal to the output of boss gt1 maybe. Strong points of Boss GT1: It has usb audio interface connection to a pc (so you do not need a separate one) Boss effects are quite good (from the videos on youtube, I would say Boss units definitely sound better than Helix units) Simple design for amps (the amps work well for their intended genre but you don't have much choice as other multifx pedals -> this can be a con too) It works with batteries. Cons of Boss GT1: It does not have so many buttons so a live use might be an issue, you need to prepare your patches before a live performance. It does not have FX loop (GT100 has 1 and GT1000 has 2 mono or 1 stereo) so you can only add pedals before GT1 and after GT1, you get the idea. You might use a real tube screamer and real compression pedal before GT1 but you might also need a noise gate at the beginning. It does not have IR loader feature. Mooer GE200 has so it might be a con. Lastly and one of the most important cons are the screen is really from the previous decade. It looks like tetris screen. Mooer and Line 6 has colored screen nowadays, Boss really needs to update the screen. It does not effect the sound quality but why not look at a better designed colored screen?

That sounds like a change in levels (db) rather than a gap. How do other modelers handle this? By the way, I really need to listen thru a great set of cans - double check. Pete.
