So this is the re-creation of the ‪@MoogSynthesizers‬ Labyrinth inside of Bitwig Studio. I tried to keep it as close as possible to the original Synth and its probably fun to play around with it.

Update 0.5: - SEQ1 and SEQ2 spit out notes for external synths & devices. Or use it to record some sequences to a note clip. - Additional Note Grid Preset (download below) with only one sequencer, when you don't need the whole synth and just want to generate sequences. Update 0.4: - EG1 and EG2 behave more like real voltage-controlled EGs. The "trig mix" knob now scales the triggers from each sequencer. Update 0.3: - Added new sequencers with the corrupt system. 0-50% changes the pitches, 50-100% changes the triggers. Update 0.2: - Can be triggered with a key now (so you can play it like a synth). - Added a quantizer for each sequencer (to keep stuff in tune, use SEQ1 AMT 100% because it's post-quantizer and use SEQ1 Range for the pitch range). - only plays when transport plays

This is most likely a stupid question, but why does this preset have 2 BitWig Presets?
@PolarityMusic
@PolarityMusic Ай бұрын
you mean the additional note grid preset? because some people only wanted to use the sequencer (without the synth)

...ha...30 minutes ago, i watched loopops review and thought, must ask if U might wanna recreate the moog labyrinth in a grid patch....and there U are...!....great job...!...and big THANX....

This is slick. I always learn a lot from these recreations. I'd love love if Bitwig created some kind of UI composer or API for the grid so these kinds of patches could have a UI panel to make them easier to use.

This is insane. Anyone arguing which DAW is better isn't considering the full picture. Bitwig is a Modular DAW and nothing comes close to it.

No, different DAW have strengths and weaknesses. logic is better for tracking. Renoise has strengths for things that best Ableton and Logic. Don’t fall in love with things in a way that makes you blind

@@quantum_ocean is 100% right. Bitwig is awesome. The modulation is so strong. But it has drawbacks too. I switched to Cubase last year, and won't be going back to Bitwig as a primary daw anytime soon.

I think, the „corrupt“ knob is the knob, where the fun really begins, because it’s controlling the Turing machine AND the bit flips as well. But nevertheless it’s a crazy patch, well done , especially in this short amount of time. Ah… and the quantizer is missing, but that shouldn’t be a big deal…
@PolarityMusic
@PolarityMusic Ай бұрын
yea it would make the patch way more complex and cpu consuming and all you get is "random" flips and pitches. so i made a trade off there. Maybe I implement it in an update :)
@kaykramer9045
@kaykramer9045 Ай бұрын
@@PolarityMusic Yes , I think, it’s okay, especially when you use the Andrew Huang approach to it and record everything. Then you can play around and choose later, what to use and what to throw away. For playing live it could be a deal breaker though…

Might have to add some macro knobs to imitate a more standard plugin UI. I guess Bitwig doesn't allow for real UI design yet.

Mr Polarity, can you answer a question about the grid? The docs say that each wire carries a stereo signal. But does each wire also carry independent signals for every note in polyphonic mode? For example, the gate signal must tell an ADSR when each note is pressed/released independently. But when I connect gate to oscilloscope, it only has a single graph and it behaves weirdly when you release only one of the pressed notes. Can you explain this?
@PolarityMusic
@PolarityMusic Ай бұрын
no the signal are always stereo. In poly mode, the "whole grid" patch is duplicated (virtually) for each individual note and runs as long the voice is active. maybe this gives you some more info: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/aLmRbJCqmM2aqn0.html
@picard-my8io
@picard-my8io Ай бұрын
@@PolarityMusic ah, so poly mode is implemented the same way as voice stacks. Of course, that makes sense, no need have two different implementations for those things. Thanks!
