The default settings for the dsp is the moondrop standard. Which is a v shape with more treble. If you want to listen to the original sound of this Iem with the dsp cable, you can use the apps moondrop link 2.0 (poorly develope), and set every gain to 0. Then you will hear less bass. Also there are the (reference) and (no bass) profiles. Which I think is better for classical music. Finally I just replace the dsp cable with a pure silver cable. The sound is good for monitoring.

just blind bought it today for fun since the concept is new and it's kinda affordable. i tried the reference mode and it beats all my collection (fiio fd5, jvc fw1800, jh billie jean, etc. just to name a few)

Since it's a dsp corrected iem, we don't know if the tuning is due to the drivers or DSP without changing the EQ or test with standard cable

nice review, a bit different from the traditional style of reviewing I saw. What do you think of this IEM if we change it with standard cable 3.5 or 4.4, then put a dongle DAC like Shanling UA4?

Thanks!. You can absolutely swap the cable and then use it like other detachable IEMs, and then you have all the flexibility of sound tuning based on the cable and what DAC/Amp connected

Hi Andy, please, could you recommend a dongle under $50 to move well (take advantage of) a 16 Ohms planar iem, 104 dB/MW. I saw a review and they told me that Rhodium moves planar iems...? I follow your reviews and I like them for being honest and very detailed.

There's three in particular I would recommend for up to $50, that would be Moondrop DAWN Pro or AKLIAM PD4+, of course there's also EPZ TP20. You can check the videos I have for each of them. They offer 4 Vrms of power and has proven more than capable to drive properly even full sized 91db magnetic planars, which is a lot harder than your 104 dB sensitivity IEM planar. You should be good. I have never tried Rhodium dongles personally so I can't say how does it perform with planars. Thanks for the support!

Thanks to you, I will gladly review your reviews. I saw a comment asking you to review the NiceHCK F1 Pro and that is the one I want to buy along with a dongle that would be my first, more powerful one. I use an Apple lightning 3.5 dongle and my Airpad 2 + Simgot EW 200 and they sound very good, but I want to listen to blues, classic rock and prog and from what I have seen the Nice is ideal for that type of music. Thank you for responding so carefully.

If you want balanced sound, it has to be Simgot EA500LM, May is Harman Bass boosted and I have no idea about Gimlet

I saw this set on my AliExpress wishlist, and came to youtube to see if anyone posted a review of it. And you just uploaded a few mins ago. I hope you do a full review of the set as well, because the majority of importance of this set is the app and tuning. The DSP cable has the tuning attached to the app and you can use the cable on other iems as well (i think)... Please clarify is this is the case, Mr. Andy.

Yes that is correct. Once you have it, there's an app you can download called Moondrop Link 2 which is basically an app to configure the attached dongle of May, this is where the DSP comes into play. What it does is basically allowing the user to set EQ as how you want it, so there's flexibility there. And you are right, you can also use different two pin type IEMs on the same DSP cable, just like swapping in/out an inline dongle
