A very rare audience recording of Moonsorrow performing in Lutakko, Jyväskylä in April 8, 2004, previously uncirculated in KZfaq. The audio quality isn’t truly excellent, but it’s very listenable without major issues. This recording features the earliest recorded live performances of Sankaritarina and Tulkaapa Äijät.
Ville’s voice is in excellent shape there, compared to Tuska 2003 or Heathen Crusade 2006 (his worst show in my opinion).
I would consider this particular performance of Sankaritarina to be one of their best live. Ville sings the “Jo luku viimeinen saa” part very close to the studio version, unlike the speak-singing on the later versions. They started performing the song in its entirety in 2011, before that they finished performing the song right after “kunnes jälleen kohtamme” coda part.
Sadly the recording is very incomplete, omitting the first half of the show (Köyliönjärven Jäällä, Jumalten Kaupunki, Sankarihauta and Kivenkantaja at the very least). However, the atmosphere is nice, fans are happy and Ville is very talkative.
