A romantic comedy about a man who just wants his wife and daughter to see the world the way he does. What's so wrong about that?
This project was funded by our Kickstarter backers, and it's currently playing festivals around the world. We'll post here when we have an official release date.

The full short film will be coming to this channel in early 2023 (Probably March-ish?) We're finishing our Film Festival screenings, and then we can release it! So SUBSCRIBE if you want to see it when it comes out!

It seems silly but it just dawned on me how jarring it will be to see Jonathan as a villain- that is terrifying to think about 😱 I'm excited to see how this plays out!

Same, I do not do horror but I will be watching this, I'm so excited! I think it'll be okay cuz every time I think of/see Jono I get excited, he's just so warm I won't be able to be wholly convinced he's a villain (which is a good thing for my brain). I am very excited to see him act in that role though!

I liked the snippets Alan and Jono showed us of the movie they made together in college. I thought they both were very good actor-wise. I love their getting their acting/directing/movie making on again. Can't wait to see this. Creeped out already. Love people making room in their lives for interests and passion projects. Especially people who are talented and skilled at those interests and passions like Jono and Alan.

Oh, I recognize this! I remember I saw a post once with a list of writing prompts. The one I liked best on the list, though I couldn't quite think of an idea for myself, said something like, "You get an emergency alert on your phone that says, 'Whatever you do, don't look at the Moon.' Then you start to get dozens of text messages from people saying, 'It's so beautiful! Come look at the Moon.'" I'm glad someone took that idea and ran with it. This looks like it's going to be excellent.

I love how the word “Look” faded to just the two Os, like a pair of eyes (I’m assuming they were meant to be eyes, judging by the brief shot of Jono’s face). Also, I thought it was a good detail that there was something like 1500 texts on the girl’s phone as she was reading the presidential alert. It looks like she has a lot of people that care about her! That or she doesn’t check her texts, ever.

I actually think Local58 got it from a Reddit r/WritingPrompts thing about 6 years ago. That's actually where I got the idea (used with permission from the original author of the writing prompt.)

@@TelekinesisStudios Nope! _Local 58_ is a spin-off series Kris Straub created to complement his _Ichor Falls_ series & the original _Candle Cove_ creepypasta. It's all connected/in the same universe! It's been a while, so I can't tell you for sure how closely they tie together, given _Local 58_ is more apocalyptic, whereas I remember _Ichor Falls_ being a pessimistic slow-burn set in a singular rural area over years, so I'm not really sure if/how the two will intertwine. I really have to brush up on the lore. But, yeah - you get my point, right? Anyway. I haven't checked the description yet, so please disregard this if that's the answer, but where may I find a link for the original prompt? I'm very interested in both it and the author! Before I see the official short film, I'll want to see the original prompt to know exactly what it was so I can get a better sense of what you guys were interpreting, and then I want to come back to it after I see the short and look at what other ideas people came up with for it! Not for comparative reasons, just for fun. I'm only holding off on looking at other responses to the prompt until I see _Moonstruck_ first, cos you guys get "dibs" on my attention over total strangers, lol =P

@@Kiss_My_Aspergers - The original author is Kris Straub, you already got it in one. He has authored quite a lot of what Reddit “comes up with”.

@@TelekinesisStudios - Nah. Kris Straub has been writing this stuff for like 15 years. You should surely be aware by now that Reddit is largely used to repost other people’s content without attribution.

I'm a HUGE horror fan! I worked in the haunted house industry for 15 years, so I've seen them all. This looks AWESOME! It's so rare to see a really new and unique concept like this in film. It *does* kind of remind me of an AR game/mystery channel here on KZfaq that I found through "Film Theory". It was called "Local Broadcast" some numbers maybe? It was a series of KZfaq videos that were supposedly uploads of government broadcast warnings and the whole point is something was going down with the moon? That's what this makes me think of. But it looks PHENOMENAL! I can't wait to watch the full movie! I wonder if Alan saw those too and wanted to take that idea to the next level? Or.... I wonder if Alan was the og creator of that (bad ass) series?

I'm not the creator of it. This was actually based on a Reddit writing prompt from way back in the day. I never saw the Local Broadcast stuff until just recently (after we'd finished the short,) but it's _great_.
