Bonus point- most cocci are gram positive. Very only bacteria are gram negative cocci and Moraxella is one of them. Neisseria is other.

just got diagnosed with this today. i'm actually allergic to amoxicillin. my doctoro prescribed doxycycline hyclate is that an effective alternative?

how can we differentiate moraxella and haemophilis

Hey! Moraxella are gram negative cocci and Haemophilus are gram negative bacilli or coccobacilli. There are also a bunch of other tests that can be used to specifically identify Haemophilus, such as the fact that it requires factors V and X for growth.

We learned that 50-60% of otitis media infections are caused by Haemophilus influenzae (untypeable)... but you said that the most common cause is Staph Aureus?

Strep pneumo + H influenza causes otitis media ; staph aureus + psuedomonas can cause otitis externa
