This brought back a lot of memories. My first motion rig I built, I was twelve, and was a folding chair on a flat piece of plywood set on top of a makeshift fulcrum, placed in front of a 286 running ms flight sim. I found Mark’s channel and ended up buying my own P6. Good times.

I think you and I would have been friends back then. I hope you had a younger brother or sister to move your "motion rig" when it needed to :) Happy to take you back to memory lane, thanks for watching and the comment!

@@GYGOtv Haha, two older sisters who I tormented, so no such luck. I used my feet and legs to lean into each turn. Haha

OMG, you brought back fond memories of my first loves (flight sims you talked about). As a sixteen year old kid who saved up and bought my first computer (C64), just to get flight Simulators (Solo Flight, SubLogic, MSFS, Falcon, etc), I was hooked! Did countless traffic patterns at Meigs Field looking at those stick figures...haha. Those graphic forced you to have a great imagination and the FPS forced you to have patience LOL. I played a bunch of other games as well, but I bought practically every flight sim/game that came out, lol. The C64 and Amiga 500 had me hooked and opened up a whole new world for me. Especially since my parents couldn't afford to get me flight lessons. I'm glad we grew up with those early PCs, because we can really appreciate what we have now. The passion is real. Sixteen years later, I was fortunate to finally take those flight lessons and get my Private Pilot's License. It was bittersweet because my parents were no longer alive, but they were with me (if you know what I mean). I owe a lot to those early flight simulators for feeding my childhood dreams and passion!!! Now it's DCS, MSFS and X-Plane in VR and motion. 😃 Really enjoyed this chat you guys had.

It is so weird how similar our childhoods where for many of us in the flight sim community. Jeff Weaver had a similar childhood too. I also too Pilot Lessons, but couldn't afford the flight hours... but I did do the coursework! I couldn't agree more with growing up back then... I've said exactly the same thing about appreciation of where we are now and learning patients :) Thanks for watching Redtail!

@@GYGOtv Indeed! BTW, Played a little ED last night, fine tuning motion for the spaceships and SRV. As I messed around in VR, it occurred to me that motion is that last element that ties everything together! I'm still tuning the SRV (had to turn things down a lot). But wow...flying and driving around in that thing with full motion is wild!

@@redtailpilotFor sure... ED is one of the best games out there for VR and the Motion Sim. So did you get a little motion sick in the buggy too? BTW... if you are new to ED, I have a bunch of high value cargo I'm willing to share with folks who need a little cash infusion. Just let me know.

@@GYGOtv Thanks for the offer, but I'm not sure how deep I'll get into this game due to my limited time (which is mostly spent in DCS and MSFS). No motion sickness at all. Haven't experienced any after getting my VR legs in the CV1. That was rough, but quickly overcome, fortunately.

@@redtailpilotThe buggy in ED was one of only 2 times I think I got a little motion sick in VR. Lucky I learned to just pay a little more attention when driving it and I'm fine. Again if you do decide to get more into ED (sounds like you are pretty new), getting you some credits quickly will certainly help with the grind. Just let me know.

9:19 - oh yea! That's the simulator. That's what got me hooked on simulators. Listening to the whole interview, it's sounds like we lived mirrored lives. Thanks for sharing. New sub. Hope to see more on motion platforms. That's my next big step. :)

Thanks for the Sub! You've come to the right place if you are into the motion platforms. There are LOTS of videos about that on the channel... in fact my H6 is really the reason I started the channel in the first place. Feel free to ask any questions you might have, and when you are ready there should be a discount code in the latest videos that will save you 5%. Welcome to GYGO!

Sorry I am putting it here but I did not know were to ask :) Hi, I have the 6DOF that I never put together, I saw the new motors and I had to have them, I bought them and I still have not put them together. My question, do you know anyone in PA that might be good putting these together? I can pay someone to do it, I think we also need to get with Igor for downloads. I love all you vids, I have been so busy getting my company ISO 9001-2015 certified. So I have not watched much. So, anyone live around Barto PA I want to get this going. OO and I had neck surgery which I am still dealing with. Any help would be great, even if its paying you to make up a great clear instruction book with the new gears added. I had this for like 3 years now :) maybe 4.

Hi Glen, no reason to be sorry. Obviously I can't help you with physically putting it together because I live kinda far away :) However I can point you to the assembly video that we already did kzfaq.info/get/bejne/mriHmpx0m53XfHk.html It is as clear an instruction book as we can come up with and I hope it helps. If you find it valuable, you can always use the Super Thanks button to donate whatever you think it was worth... or we have a Patreon page as well if you want to continue to help GYGO grow. Good luck, let me know what you think of the video.
