The gentleman that cried during Spring Day don’t feel bad, I cry every time I hear this song. BTS wrote this to help console those who lost love ones, but especially for those that lost love ones in the Sewol ferry boat accident in 2014 in South Korea. So many high school students died because they listened to the boat captain who told them to stay where they are (bottom of the boat rooms) & they will be rescued. The people on top & captain & crew got off & left the students to die! This song is still on South Korea’s top 100 music ratings, which is amazing since it was released in 2017. This song is so loved by the people of South Korea.

Taehyung has the widest vocal range and it reflects so well when sings those high pitches effortlessly. It comes naturally to him, he doesn't need to push harder. He's extremely talented and his voice is so deep. I am proud of him ❤

Their song SPRING DAY, is based on real life accident/tragedy which happened in seoul, korea. It is called SEWOL FERRY SISTER. The Sewol ferry sank off the southwestern coast of South Korea on April 16, 2014. More than 300 people died that day, with all the students coming from Danwon High School in Ansan, a city in Seoul.The vast majority of the victims were school children. Captain Lee and several of his crew members fled the ship after it capsized and were among the first to be rescued by the coast guard. They were accused of causing hundreds of unnecessary deaths by failing to issue evacuation orders and telling the children to stay in their cabins. Now this captain is sentenced to 30 years of jail which means as aged 70 he has to spend rest of his life in jail.

I love spring day. Just on its own, it's a beautiful universal song about separation, loss and pain with the hope the hard times will pass (a spring day will come as they say). However, the song because of its universal appeal means it suits the pains of the pandemic lock down feel very real. There's a performance I find of spring day that's so god damn beautiful I almost cry every time I see it. It's from their permission to dance tour which I believe they started off in South Korea which at the time had strict covid measures, so it ended up being livestreamed and they were performing on stage at an empty stadium (they killed it by the way). But when they performed spring day, and it starts raining down the confetti that looks like snow and sakura petals at the same time to an empty stadium... it felt so perfectly lonely and beautiful and sad. This concert you can see on the DVD for BTS memories of 2021.

Yes Spring day MV was of the ferry tragedy but the song isn't. RM and Suga wrote it missing friends. I've watched Tiny Desk 100x I love it. Their voices are so good her and I love Sugas verse in Spring Day and with Jimin sing with him so beautiful. 0:00 is one of my favs as well. And if anyone says Jimins set me free pt2 or any other of his solos are crap and crazy and have no ears for music or maybe jealous lol. Now you need to do house of cards and the truth Untold. It's the vocal line only like 0:00. I think you'll love it.
