Another excellent clip. I’m loving these game analyses. I’m around 1300 on Lichess and the ideas Levy talks about really help my game. Identifying and taking advantage of your opponent’s bad pawn moves gives you a big edge at this level. Also breaking open the center if he’s not castled and you are.

As a (high school physics) teacher myself who loved the job for 6 years, I can say you have a great way with helping others attain knowledge, Levy. Rather than just spouting off a bunch of facts, you guide them through discovering the knowledge on their own. I'm assuming you didn't train to become a teacher, but you are a natural! Hi Ben, No they are not but they are good supplementary videos for beginners. I suggested to Dave who is unlikely to see my comment to change everything he is doing to learn Chess only if he actually wants to learn it well. If he is just doing this on the surface for his channel diversification and because of lockdown, then he should keep doing what he is doing. For those who actually want to learn Chess well, me with my Master level experience suggest three things untill you are 1600 USCF ELO at which point you can add more. 1. Learn from Reassess Your Chess 3rd. Edition 2. Learn the Queen's Pawn Opening "system" not any king's Pawn ones (of course review all relevant Openings to get a feel for the overall gsme) but invest 90% on just the Queen's Pawn) 3. Study 303 Tricky Chess Tactics, End Game, Middle Game, and Defense puzzle books.

@InfiniteQuest86
@InfiniteQuest86 3 жыл бұрын
@@jdrodrigues7 Reassess is probably way too advanced for beginners. Even David who is studying hard, playing, getting coaching from all the top coaches, just places his rook directly where his queen can take it. He's probably a good year or so ahead of people starting out from the virus. Do thousands of tactics until you are playing full games without one move blunders. Until that is automatic, you'll never be able to think about strategy.
@Cafeiine4209
@Cafeiine4209 3 жыл бұрын
@@jdrodrigues7 by the way, why should I focus on the Queen's pawn opening?
@Bingus453
@Bingus453 3 жыл бұрын
@@Cafeiine4209 because most of King's pawn openings are easy to understand and play(Unless it is King's Gambit) as compared to Queen's pawn opening. U will see the difference in tactical and Positionally Queen's pawn openings are little tricky and may be a little solid or more attacking.

After the Re2 move at the end, my eyes are drawn to Rxa6, Rxd2, Rxa8 check, followed by Nxd2 after the king moves. I'm sure I am missing some refutation by black, like the a8 rook possibly being trapped, but if I were playing this game, I would've done that to try to salvage the game. Two rooks and a knight for a queen is decent.
