If oilers are looking for a defenseman, then they are looking to improve their defense. Eric Karlsson isn't that player. Nurse is a much better fit for what the oilers need than Karlsson is. And giving up that much for him!! No thank you

Nurse won’t leave Edmonton for Pittsburgh. These are my 2 favourite teams I’ve followed these 2 clubs my whole life. He would have back when he got drafted. But now Crosby is old, mcdavid is in his prime. Worst contract ever done by Ken holland

Nurse isn't going anywhere unless Oilers eat at least 4 mill of his contract. Oilers can't. And Nurse was willing to wave his no trade. He won't. So Nurse isn't going anywhere.

everyone's talking about why they cant trade nurse but they shouldn't go after Karlsson even if they could trade nurse. Karlsson is an offensive defenseman for a top powerplay. When he was in san Jose with Brent burns during the 2021 season they both recorded some of they're worst point total of their careers. combined they didn't even add up to a point per game. that was they're worst season with san Jose. they never put up normal amount of points that they used to get. when burns left Karlsson put up a career high in points and won the Norris. the oilers also want someone more defensively inclined that will give them more cap space then Karlssons contract.

What I haven't seen talked about is what if Savoie is just the ace trade chip for this season's trade deadline? The Oilers have no 2025 first or second round pick to trade, and even if they did, they are projecting to be very late picks. Savoie on the other hand could be a very attractive trade chip at the deadline, so if they don't get that puck moving dman in the offseason, maybe they can get him at the deadline.

Ceci plus minus in playoffs is horrible. Kulak is the reason Oilers lost the 7th game backing up to Skinner letting in a goal

Nurse’s contract is so bad that it’s radioactive. No one will want to touch it unless you add MULTIPLE 1sts and prospects.

No one is taking Nurse at 9 million. You need to wait until the end of this season Broberg/Nurse looked great. Keep in mind Ceci was a 5/6/7D and Nurse has never had a partner that fit next to him. So see if Broberg can bring up his stock or maybe having a decent partner may make him worth it. It’s clear Nurse was really banged up in the playoffs.

If Nurse's contract only had 1-2 years left, I could see a bottom-tier team take him for assets. But 6 years of term essentially burdens ANY team's plans to such an extent that the Oilers would have to give up insane futures to move him. I don't see it happening. They found a way to shelter Nurse to get by anyway. I think that's the best bet.

it's a shame the oilers fumbled so hard with nurse's contract. he's a good defenceman but just nowhere near a 9-mil/year defenceman. i also don't think nurse will wave since he's close to mcd and drai. those 3 are gonna wanna stay together as long as possible while they can.

Nurse at best is $3M defenseman now. Nurse used to be a top defenseman but he has regressed. His plus minus in the payoff was by far one of the worse. He likes play goal and poke check players rather than take the man. Lazy. Not sure who would take him at over $9M.

Nurse used to be Mcdavifs roommate. He is going nowhere. We r stuck with this contract for years. If Mcdavid goes then I can see him getting traded.

Cap and playoffs basically force us to bet Broberg works out. Smart bet IMO. Connor really likes Nurse, between that & his contract I wouldn't bother trying to move Darnell. Sign Leon ASAP, if there is a .000001% chance he hits FA trade him, he's far too valuable to risk losing for nothing.

Lol. Is this a goof? No oiler fan would want that trade. Nurse is stuck here this year at least anyway . NMC and buddies with the team and challenging for a cup. The best oiler fans can hope for is that Nurse gets better and starts playing at a level we need him to play at.

if anyone needs to make a big splash its toronto, they should go after that pylon nurse, they already have probably most the immobile defense core in the league lol trees and senior citizens between that and dodgy goaltending where theyre depending on woll staying healthy this could be the worst season toronto has had in a long time 😬 not to mention the horrible bottom 6

Karlsson is horrific at -99 plus minus. He is 35 years old, and his playoff results are nothing to write home about. Pittsburg has nothing to to trade for.

So you - Draisaitl but didn't pencil in what you get in return. Alright, now bundle Drai and Nurse and see what you get in return. How about Nico Hischier, Dougie Hamilton, plus prospects for Nurse, Draisaitl, and Ceci? You want to punish the eastern teams for not letting the Oilers win the cup. Put Hughes on Drais left side and let the games begin. I'm just having fun. I can't even fathom what a Draisaitl is worth on the open market.

I think outside of Edmonton, people realize that Nurse’s contract is worse at this moment. Karlsson only has 3 years left on his deal.
