Mr wobbles is one of my favorite beatboxers and streamers. He had the foresight to leave the battle scene and pursue a career in content a long long time ago, something a lot of high level pros still don't do even though they can make a real career out of it.

I think right now in the current era. Beatbox is as close to breaking into the mainstream as it has been for awhile. I think the biggest thing holding it back are the things you guys talked about. Something else I think holds it back is that people only see the high level without the mid-low level journey so it looks unattainable to regular people. I actually almost quit within my first month. The only reason I continued was because Remix was 16 in the insane video and I was 16 at the time so I found him relatable which made beatbox look more feasible for me. I also had a few “I can’t get this sound, I’ll never make it.” moments that I only got through because I heard decade long beatboxers could not do it.

Great interview with Mr. Wobbles! With Madox's point of being super excited to see Reeps One for hearing a showcase of his music but instead hearing him proving he still has battle moves, I think there are definitely a few beatboxers in the scene who have great potential to do an actual showcase of their music for like 1 hr vs 4 mins besides Reeps One - a few that come to mind are Spiderhorse, Beatbox House, Kristof7s and INKIE. Being someone who has gone to several music festivals, their approach to showcasing their music would fit perfectly in that sort of setting. 👌 Beardyman is definitely a prime example who is successful with this. Another way I imagine a 1 hour long showcase from a solo beatboxer approach would be like how Dub FX performs his events.

So I've been deep into the beatbox community for about 5-6 years now and know all 3 of you and how good you are before watching this. B-art imo is one of my top 5 just based on style and textures. Anyway I know what I'm talking about I can name anyone you throw at me but my point is Madox....... You truly are an amazing beatboxer but for years you kinda slipped through my cracks of knowledge and always kinda wondered why you were so respected by all the amazing ogs I knew. Not that I even left disrespectful comments on your stuff that's not how I am 😂😂😂😂 but what I'm saying is I didn't fully understand untill about a year ago how influential all three of you are sbb would literally not be a fraction of what it was withour Maddox Bart Dlow Tom thum. There's so many others I'd like to name but this message is already 2 long. Maddox...... B-art You have been leading this thing since before it became huge and guess what..... You still are, for real beatbox and true fairness Sorry for long message but I truly love the community and not many have the overall community respect to do things you 2/4 have the balls to do. Thank you so much all 3 of you for leading and running a musical style I have come to love so much Sorry for long message for real 😂 Austin

I enjoyed listening to Mr. Wobbles and his opinions make you think about what beatboxing is now and what it can be. I find that my favorite beatbox artists do not try to only inpress. KRNFX did a judge showcase at GBB 2018 and he did his thing, not trying to impress but to show his style and artistry. I still retwatch this video. USA has so many good beatboxers but very limited events. I am in California but not close to SoCal so West Coast, Long Island, and California champs are pretty far. I love Sxin and Robin's tracks from GBB 21 because they performed their music rather than battle opponents

Ive said it once, Ill say it again. Beatboxing needs to expand from battles. Battles are fun, but it seems so limited because of time limits and such. If theres like a beatbox festival where its just beatboxers beatboxing without having the pressure of making a routine good enough to impress the judges. Kinda like Coachella. If such a thing becomes popular, it will give beatboxing the recognition it deserves.

I guess I don't understand if people just arenot paying attention or just like complaining. I have seen Quite a few events that incorporate beatbox with other actforms, that was not a battle format, and one that was. Beat box is so much more Than battles, and has been for several years. It doesn't have to be one or the other.
@samreciter
@samreciter Жыл бұрын
Yeah.. i think this in loopstation battles alot. With a good band or electronic act - they have a style they are really good in. You recognize those bands/acts immediately on their style. But battels rewards the people that can do all - always different styles - etc. Beeing jack of all traits and masters of nothing. What it's training them for and rewards them to do - is just to be pop musicians that do whatever a producer gives them - not to be good artists with an own unique style. But that is what makes a band/act great in the normal music seen - what makes great artists. That maybe great for some in the beginning to find your their own style - but in the long run...

There are dance battles. From a discipline that is way older than Bbox. This shows, obviously, what MrWobbles and Madox are missing. What they don't feel, don't believe (and that's anything but wrong). I just mean that a lot of people find joy in every aspects of battling performances, so considering battles as "university" is way to simplistic. But there is nothing wrong not thinking like that and to prefer produced/gig solo content. The battle scene needs a rework for sure, but talking about it like that is way to reducing imo. Sry for the english, and I hope you all a great future.
