More on Reggie White's Spiritual Journey

This is a tribute to my friend Reggie White, of blessed memory. Most of the world knew him as one of the greatest Football players to ever live. But he was also a deeply spiritual man who had a burning desire to uncover the roots of his Christian faith. The same drive and zeal that made him a great ball player also made him a great scholar and in his final years he learned to read the Bible in the original Hebrew. His untimely passing on December 26, 2004 was a great loss to the world.

Dear Mrs White, I wanted to let you know that it was Reggie who planted the seed to seek out the truth. I met him at Dr Tim's office. I was his Nanny(2000) I have been trying to put the pieces together and found it in Nehemia Gordon and Michael Rood.Thank you for your example and sharing Reggie with us. I absolutely LOVE Mr. White, he was and still is today, the GREATEST man to ever step foot on the field! I am very happy he also played for my GREEN BAY PACKERS!!! The day Mr. White left this world was indeed a sad day for his family and fans around the world, however, it was his greatest day of all because he got to meet his savior.

Just finished watching Shabbat Night Live, then was led to this video! Wow! I knew of Reggie White but I did not know all of this! Thank you for sharing! Not only is this very touching and I pray for his family, but I can relate to this so much. I had to leave my job in 2009. While at home spending much more time in the Word, I was led from Christianity to Torah! I hope his story will help to lead others to discover truth! Thank you and Shalom!

When we search for him, He will make a way for us to find him. With all my heart I give cause you gave your all for your people to find there way back. To the remnant study to show thy self approve. My grandmother was a slave born in Charolett North Carolina. I'm moving there soon to research our slave roots. For I have found. We are the people, The chosen of the Elohim. Thank you so much for sharing this video. I know exactly what Reggi was talking about. I feel like it's speaking of me in his story. I have found that same treasure and it's so discouraging when people don't believe me. They think I'm being seduced. I thank Yahweh that he used Reggi as a light to the world. Mrs. White thank you for you and for Reggie and your family. There are many Reggie's that are willing to pay the price for not going with the tide. I'm sorry but I'm not a football fan so I never heard of Reggie before today. But already I feel like he is my brother and I'm sure many others do too. I'm hoping to head to Israel this year with one of my 7 sons. If you would do me one favor and pray that we make it. -- בכבוד רב דוד

I really liked this man, what little I thought I knew about him. Although I have always been a Cowboys fan, there was no non cowboy I liked as much as Reggie. Now, in my quest for truth, to find out that he was a Godly man, makes me really happy. I hope my passion will be as great as his. I wish I could find out where to purchase the same Hebrew bible he used.

Does anyone know if Reggie was learning biblical or modern Hebrew? I know he was learning the Hebrew language, just not sure which one. This is really important to me. Thank you in advance.

Four years later... Question answered: Reading the Torah would have been biblical Hebrew. I am sure he learned some modern as well when he traveled to Israel.
