"[The glassclaws] claim they were given this task by a celestial entity over 100 generations ago, and dismiss any claims that the pyramids aren't even that old." God I love Kobolds. That's so perfect.

I'm hoping gnolls get a bit more love as PF2e goes on - the lore established in the Mwangi expanse book is so good - and honestly very similar to how I redesignedgnolls in a campaign of my own to make them less 'monster of the week' and more like a genuinely interesting, playable ancestry :D

There is an eventual plan I want to have for anyone playing a Vanara when they come across one of the mysterious and noble Orang-Pendak. Or perhaps a whole civilisation of them. But if there's one Ancestry I'd love to see in your next video on it, it's gotta be my favourites, the Nagaji. Snek people take no crap!

How are catpeople so integrated into other species societies? Pathfinder must be a very accepting setting - I guess they're not skooma dealers like in Tamriel 😅 I do love that the Arctic regions are full of catpeople tribes, crazy. As for Hobgoblins, I wonder if they are natural allies with other goblinkind (Orcs and Goblins) like in other settings. The leshi are ridiculous perversions of great Slavic traditions, at least by the illustrations presented, but there might be something fey-like and mischievous about them, I just don't know too much about their Pathfinder lore. At least the Lizardmen were done justice. The Samsaran are totally weird and alien, I have no idea where this archetype comes from.

I keep coming back to this video just for your maps when making characters to get a more visual idea of spread of different Catfolk diaspora. In this case I was looking for any that could be found on Mediogalti Island, and seems the Sethurril are the ones that make the most sense.

@@TheMythKeeper *Qitajj. Shemtej also. Although, I moved away from Mediogalti Island as I didn't find a way to give a level 2 catfolk rogue proficiency with Sawtooth Sabers (human can get it, or fighters), and the Red Mantis doesn't feel quite right for the concept. What I was thinking was a uniformed rogue/assassin with a military bearing, and while the Red Mantis Assassins wears a (somewhat silly) uniform they're not what I was really thinking. Wondering what military academy trains skilled assassins. Figure lion blades loosely fit that archetype, although, I am sure there's another place you could find an assassin wearing a uniform when not operating covertly.

@@Jo-Heike Hmmm... my personal favorite assassins guild - Daggermark. For a Garundi organization, consider The Vane in Vidrian. They are a covert organization too, so to hide their Vidric allegiance they actually prefer non-human or non-vidric agents abroad. Mostly they are an anti-slavery, anti-Chelish, anti-Sargavan organization; but as Vidrian evolves as a nation they're going to get involved in more things.
@Jo-Heike
@Jo-Heike Жыл бұрын
@@TheMythKeeper Those are two interesting options. If they vane really prefer non-humans then recruiting catfolk (who are marginally more common in the area as far as I can tell) would make a lot of sense. I'll have to look into it more.

I believe the catfolk have their own forms of the main divinities in pathfinder, and any of them would be appropriate gods to worship. Where the books leave whitespace - that's all the more room for you to create. 🙂

@Jo-Heike Жыл бұрын
@@TheMythKeeper As far I know they don't, the APG says catfolk generally aren't very religious, and mention that those that are often practice a nebulous form of animism (spirits of creation I think). the LO:AG names a deity for three of the five diaspora mentioned, although only one of the three is mentioned as being particularly religious.

0:47 One of my biggest disappointments with the Lost Omens World Guide was how they said it would have a world map with better detail for the entire world, not just the Inner Sea region, and then didn't bother. Amurrun come from somewhere in southern Garund, maybe. Is it a trio of city-states? Does it hold enough territory to reach both the east and west coasts of Garund? Is it at the very bottom (and therefore relatively isolated and protected from its neighbors) or is it landlocked, possibly beset on all sides? No idea!

Is there any lore on metallic-colored kobolds for Pathfinder 2E? I'm playing one in a campaign right now, and I'm trying to avoid too many spoilers, but I'd like to know a lot more about silver-scaled kobolds, at least.
@TheMythKeeper
@TheMythKeeper Жыл бұрын
There are actually three different conflicting creation myths involving kobolds and dragons that I didn't get to hear, but the short version is that kobolds have some kind of kinship with dragons. Also note that your GM may have something special planned for your character and his heritage which may not neatly line up with all the canon. For a silver-scaled kobold, it might indicate a connection with a silver dragon, those metallic dragons that breathe lightning.
@keithwinget6521
@keithwinget6521 Жыл бұрын
@@TheMythKeeper The docs say they breathe cold. Are there any particular silver dragons in the lore? If they are anything like D&D silver dragons at all, I have a hard time imagining there not being at least one hanging out in human form in Absalom given it's size and renown.
@TheMythKeeper
@TheMythKeeper Жыл бұрын
@@keithwinget6521 You might be right, it might be cold not lightning. (Oops!) I wrote my response from memory, but its faulty sometimes. And yes, you're right, there are a reasonable number of silver dragons out there using advanced magics to conceal their true form.

@@LiannaBabeli Checked these all out. Can you specify exactly where you found lore on metallic-scaled Kobolds, because I found none. Granted, I specifically looked for Kobold-related stuff only. If it was hidden somewhere else within, I wouldn't know where to start. There's the basic mention of their scale color as a choice and what breathe weapon/resistance that would bring, and that's about all I found.

@@TheMythKeeper You have a strong point there, the English lang. is so messed up with things like that Night and Knight. But for things like that I go back to the source of how it was pronounced from the origin or what would be called the origin. Like there are people that pronounce Drow 2 different ways, but if you go back to the creator Gary Gygax there is only one correct way of saying it. It is something the English lang. needs to fix. I mean would I be wrong going around calling Bill Ill and saying that I thought the B was silent.? Or Bryan calling them Ryan saying I thought once again the B was silent. But we do need to fix the English lang. if the letter is silent then we just need to remove it.

i agree personally don't think that change really made sense given how different each of them often is they aren't the same species or such different ancestries makes me think they share a close common ancestry which lizardfolk and cat folk i strongly doubt do, its just one of those many strange and potentially dumb (depending on the reason for the change like i really dislike some of the changes they did to some classes like oracle) things they did when making 2e in my opinion

Not to open Pandora's box here, so I'll keep it fairly surface level, but basically the term "race" didn't make sense to begin with. Race is a social construct, not biological or even cultural. It's just something that came out of certain societal ideas (and, as you can imagine, was mostly related to gross claims about "which race is superior" and such). Using the term to refer to different fantasy creatures doesn't make sense, because they have much more clearly defined biological and cultural differences. Add to that the fact that "race" is a very loaded term with lots of difficult connotations, and it just makes sense to move away from it. Just because DnD established the term doesn't mean everyone has to stick to it - that's my personal opinion at least. :)
