Thank you your update on the Y pipe. New Subscriber. I just purchased a White 2007 4Runner with the 4.7 V8 with 99,890 miles. I'm watching every one of your videos pertaining to your 4Runner and giving you a thumbs up on all. Please keep up the great videos. I live in The Woodland. Best.

When I bought my "new to me" 2003 4Runner, the front bumper's paint was really in bad shape. I used truck bed liner on it and it came out pretty awesome. I had used it on my Chevy van before and it has lasted the test of time. Thanks for the tips on the Rad Rubber as mine as pretty much gone. That voltmeter is awesome and looks factory. I noticed Toyotas don't come with voltmeters. I had a cigarette lighter model in my Tacoma. Thanks again for the tips. Subed!

What did you do to prep your front bumper before using the bed liner on it?
@2-old-Forthischet Жыл бұрын
@@johncortez1599 not much, just a really light sanding. I used Rustoleum bed liner spray as it is widely available at most hardware stores. I also used it on my Tacoma's bed and it is fairly tough for a spray on liner. It's actually is better than the roll on one I tried before. Touch ups are easy too. Bed liner spray will stick to just about anything.

how do you use the add a fuse circuit for the voltmeter?
@guntrain2124 жыл бұрын
Not sure I agree with the breather filter mod. Your intake has a small vacuum in it, which draws the PCV gases out of the crankcase in order to burn them off in the engine. This does two things for you: One, it helps lower crankcase gas pressure by siphoning it out and re-burning the hydrocarbon particles that slip past your piston rings and end up in your oil. When you're at operating temp, they like to vaporize first. Two, it ensures that the attachment point for this recirculation is [typically] AFTER the MAF sensor, which prevents it from being contaminated with residue. The extra bonus is that as your vehicle ages, you'll end up with more worn piston rings, which increase the amount of blowby that ends up in your crankcase, which is sucked back out by this system. Under heavier loads (acceleration), this amount of gas can be considerable, which can stress and damage the engine seals, such as the front and rear main-seals. It's most prevalent in higher-mileage turbo cars, but high crankcase gas pressure isn't in anyone's interest. Typically an oil catch-can is the most helpful. It separates the oils and residues from coating your intake manifold, while letting the gases by, for combustion. Keeps the vacuum draw on your crankcase, though. Just thought I'd leave that info. The truck is otherwise quite nice :)

That hose is used for getting excess oil out of the crank case though the PCV valve. You should get a catch can otherwise your air filter will get soaked in oil.

4Runner4life98 The PCV valve and the catch can are both on the driver side

I have a 2020 TRD Off Road and already put in a Magnuson supercharger.. All i have to say is WOW!.. The 4runner now runs 349.6hp to the tires and feels exactly as it should.. Not at all OP but i'm now able to pass on highways lol, and off road requires wayy less boot to get over obstacles.. I can do it at much lower RPM like a V8.. I also put on the Fox Shocks out of my brothers 2019 TRD Pro that he replaced immediately, so they were basically new.. I absolutely love my rig lol.. I also have a dual battery setup with a great inverter.. My tires are a set of Toyo M/Ts my brother also gave me new lol Very clean under your hood!.. It looks great, like new!

Thought you had the army green Pro. Now it's an offroad?
@lunamaria10484 жыл бұрын
My husband purchased a TRD Off Road we recently supercharged and put Fox shocks in, and I bought a 2020 TRD Pro because my husband, my brother and a few friends all have a 4Runner (from 3rd to 5ty gen).. We live in a rugged mountain town in northern BC so need tough rigs that can handle washed out and rutted roads for 2 months a year and heavy snow and ice for the remaining 10 months.

Correction: voltmeter/USB formats differ from vehicle to vehicle - I have '04 and '18 4Runners, and openings in the dash are different so I need different voltmeters. To make it simple, they are NOT universal.

Any change in the performance of the engine or fuel mileage after the Breather mod? Nice video by the way.

Chris W Thank you! I didn’t see any change. The breather filter mod is more for increasing the longevity of the engine.

how do you get the front turn signal bulbs to stay on without the tail lights being on if you know? been trying to figure that out. I have a regular sr5. I seen a lot of sr5's with that done.
@airsoftmechanic4 жыл бұрын
LeoHeartedFX That sounds like daytime running lights. Some have them and some don’t. Apparently it’s an option for the 4th gen 4Runners because I’ve seen some without them on.

But, isn't running the breather hose to the filter box doing the exact same thing as having it run to the port on the intake tube? It's still a connection from the breather to intake.
@airsoftmechanic3 жыл бұрын
Zachary Beck Yes it is. Only difference is the filtration I added. You can leave the hose connected to the intake, but I chose to re-route it and filter it incase any oil particles are traveling out of the breather valve.

Can you tell me how your volt meter is holding up- was it a good idea installing it ? Low voltage is a killer in electronics and I want to utilize my cigarette lighters for use of some items in the future. I like that one, it’s very non intrusive and has a USB port 😎 nice !

I would not install color lenses on fog lights - lighting on 4Runner is miserable as is - see below. Tow hitch cover may look nice but it's not functional - I always have a tow ball installed so that anyone eager to rear end me can have maximum amount of fun with no damage to my bumper. Here is what I did: 1. This mostly applies to the 5th gen but - to a lesser degree - is useful for the 4th gen: LED head and fog lights. Reason: 4Runner - among three things I HATE - are junk. Even with bright LED's, low beam is miserable but with LED fog lights that I run with low beam make lighting adequate. Cost: around $100 2. Installed chicken wire mesh behind the grille - openings are huge and are inviting rocks to meet the AC condenser. Cheap and easy, around $5. Beats the hell out of replacing condenser and/or radiator. 3. Toyota's entune "infotainer" is a HUGE POS! Shame on you Toyota! There are so many deficiencies that I won't even go into details. A nice aftermarket JVC unit with all conversion staff (steering controls, etc. work just fine) - about $350. 4. My 4Runner came with no steps so I installed heavy duty ones. Useful especially if you have the truck lifted and prevent idiots at parking lots bang their doors against yours, cost about $200 5. Front and rear bumper guards. I have them on my other 4Runner, and they saved my ass a few times - once I ran into a pole at night, once hit a deer, a few times morons attempted to rearend me... Cost: about $250 each 6. Aftermarket tire pressure monitors - work much better than OEM, show tire temp, pressure, have sound warning when pressure or temp is outside of your settings, can be installed on any wheel set without dismounting tires. Especially convenient if you - as I - have winter and summer tire sets. Cost: $40 7. Lightbar - fits perfectly on front bumper guard, EXTREMELY bright, cost $27 on ebay 8. I made a storage box in the trunk out of plywood with two drawers, you can buy one but they are pretty expensive and not vehicle-specific. I made it to exact dimensions, and it fits perfectly. Eliminates clutter in the trunk. 9. Remote start 10. Transmission cooler with electric fan I live in the middle of nowhere so I need these but they are not a necessity for most people unless they are involved in off-roading: 11. 2.5" lift. Ideally, need to replace upper control arms to set caster within specs but I did not experience any handling or tire wear issues so I did not do that. Cost about $70 12. Rear air bags. They greatly improve handling especially on unpaved roads and dramatically increase maximum towing tongue weight. Cost:
