More Storage Solutions for Small Spaces: Bathroom Edition

Organizing and storing your belongings in a smaller bathroom can be a bit of a challenge. Not all of us have the luxury of having a large deluxe bathroom with tons of storage and drawers to store everything. Whenever I see these bathrooms in clients' houses or on HGTV, I get a little tinge of jealousy at the ample amount of drawers available and many of these large bathrooms have their own closets also. If you live in a small apartment in the city or if you're sharing a bathroom with more than one person and you're looking for some clever storage ideas to maximize space in a smaller bathroom, this video is for you!

My bathroom is so small, the only shower curtain that fits is one designed for RVs. I use over the toilet shelving and modular units under the sink. I'm lucky to have a built-in linen cupboard. These are all great ideas! Definitely going to check out those little acrylic risers.

I got three 3M Command Razor Holders ($6.58 each at Walmart). I put them on the wall over my sink (near the medicine cabinet), and store my toothbrush in one, eyebrows pencil/gel tubes in another, and lipstick tubes in the third. They have a hole on the bottom for draining. So the items I use everyday are right there. To clean, just slide up and off, and slide back on when done.

I have a window behind my toilet, so an over-the-toilet etagere won’t work. However, I devised a way to keep a couple of rolls of toilet paper, and a few feminine hygiene supplies, within arm’s reach of the toilet. I got a $3 plastic container from Target, making sure it fit at least two mega rolls of toilet paper (next to, not on top of each other), also made sure it had a lacy or gridded design (with holes to use with screws), and was see-through, like clear or frosted. I sat on the toilet, positioned where to put the unit, screwed it into the wall. It’s come in VERY handy a few times.

Ugh I just LOVE your videos! Definitely has inspired me to make a few changes. I have a family of four living in a small two bedroom, 1 bath apartment. While we save up to buy a home, this is where we'll be staying and often it gets so cluttered even when I feel like I'm picking up CONSTANTLY. Allllllll of these tips are so helpful! I'm so glad I found your channel :)

I appreciate that a lot because the ducking (the feature that lowers the music automatically) was actually not functioning properly in my editing program and I was getting super frustrated having to do it manually. That bathroom is huge compared to our 1950 hall bath. Sink area half that size. When you open the door is is against the bathtub. Original tile up 4 feet on the walls and small window over the toilet.

I purchased a wire basket that hangs over the bathroom cabinet door so you can use the vertical space just like you did on the back of a regular door

That shower caddy price was outrageous! Walmart sells a great plastic one that I love. No more rust stains or falling apart.. $14.99

SimpleHuman is the ISH! They really are a great company and have some outstanding products. I'm definitely going to grab this for my next place. I also love the fact that you put a clock in the bathroom. Oftentimes we dont realize how "lost in the shower" we get and completely become late because of it. Where did you get that clock? I'm assuming it's waterproof...and did it come with the suction attachment so it could be put in the shower??? Another awesome video! Keep them coming girl!

It is a huge bathroom compared to some others I've lived in. I was just talking to my husband about how much of the square footage is probably eaten up by the bathroom, but I've lived with some TINY ones too.

One way to save space in a tiny bathroom is to do a serious declutter. Do you really need four different brands of shampoo, or body wash, or cleaning products, or makeup? Think of everything like mugs in your kitchen cabinet. How many do you actually use regularly?
