@@birdwoman.Birdman who built the walkway? I honestly can't get over the amount of work or the expense for the foundations if you paid a crew to do it! We are gardeners and unafraid to roll up our sleeves too! ) Maybe a metal roof will be a good option? And the bidet is another very popular feature for European and trendy US guests in case you change your mind. Enjoy the Walk of Contemplation path - and it’s nobody’s business about the trees you clear. Protect the house from tree/limb storm damage and keep a clear fire circle from the house as well. We were simply worried about the trees and exquisite understory. Not knowing the young man he is obviously a thoughtful hard working soul with appreciation and reverance for this setting. Many of us may have been Americans used to seeing forests dozed for concrete, track housing and toxic lawns. It was wise of the new owner to elaborate. 👍

Wow, I'm so glad I stumbled across your videos - thank you KZfaq - looked at the first video of this place, then of your first visit to your dream property and then this one - so... an hour and a half - bedtime now - can't wait to watch more of these.

I can't imagine how long it took the previous owners to build those wooden walk paths.

Just a few suggestions: reconsider how electric power gets in--buy a field drain tile trencher and run it down the center of your driveway, burying your electric feed and you'll never have to deal with it again. You have enough to do anyway, you're already busy after storms making cash, and the equipment is a write-off and asset. The rocks dug up are also assets. Use them in your own contemplation walks or other projects. You have the equipment, forget buying the poles and having to deal with downed lines forever. Second: I'd only replace that high-quality shower with one that is also a sauna shower. Third: the bidet is an asset, especially to Europeans and women--both of which you don't seem to qualify. Forth: many of your rental clientele will be from Europe, and if you play your cards right--and I'm betting you will--you will build up a base of renters who will reserve their time a year in advance, with reserve deposits that can also serve as damage deposits and/or cleaning fees. They will regard their time there as if they owned it for their week or two, and will cherish it as much as you obviously do. With our similar, but far smaller and more rustic lake property, we have a multi-generational clientele and waiting list for any time our family can't use. Different people want different experiences--some are hunters, others bass, trout, pike, perch or ice fishers, while others want swimming or sailing or fall colors, or spring times. Any time your family prefers not to be there can and will be gladly rented. Fifth: don't even think about winter plowing--move a snowmobile shed down to your trailhead and part of the client's adventure will be getting there via snow machine, with a nominal discount for those who bring their own. Your time and equipment needs to be reserved for those who need to buy/rent it from you. Lastly, huge respect to you and especially those who raised you into the hard-working, industrious, ethical, considerate and intelligent person you so clearly demonstrate in these very entertaining videos. I offer the above advice as a very meager attempt to thank you for sharing your amazing world with us, and I hope you continue to take us along for the ride. Best,,,John

John Rice is correct. Bury the lines. Leave the bidet. Women love bidets. You will love the bidet the next time you have upset stomach. You can convert to a toilet seat bidet which is better.

Great recommendations, I agree about the bidet.
@johnrice43072 жыл бұрын
@@janonthemtn Thanks. I've never used one myself, but I do know a bit about renting, and what attracts Europeans and others different from me. I'm curious and pay attention to others--or at least try to. The bidet is ready-to-go, and would take time and money to rip out--to replace with what? More empty floor space? I'd bet the shower is of higher quality than can be normally found on this side of the Atlantic, too. Plus, it can be taken apart and put back together if needed--how cool is that? The only way I'd swap it out is to replace it with a sauna-shower like I learned about in Bolivia, of all places. Heaven on earth, imnsho!

You mentioned that the previous owner was Swiss. I'm stereotyping perhaps but, the Swiss and Germans are known for their meticulousness when it comes to building structures, machines, as well as maintenance and record keeping. I toured a modern house built by an Amish family and it was the first and only house with wood stairs that didn't have a single creak. And the wiring coming out of the electrical panel was perfectly straight and all the wires laid flat without twisting and the retaining clips were aligned and spaced perfectly throughout the unfinished basement. Everything was pre-planned and detailed perfectly.

They are indeed hard-working people, he must have been a builder or an engineer. Only Europeans could have done such a thing. Very few Americans could do anything like that. They also had a lot of money, I am sure not inherited. It's just in their blood.

This home is beautiful and absolutely amazing! God picked the right person to purchase this home, when he picked YOU! I kept telling myself this, while watching the video. A home that it’s still evident today that was very much loved and cared for by its previous owners. I would move into this home and sell the other one. This home has a unique appeal that is not easy to explain, perhaps it’s the amount of love that the previous owners bestowed on it.

You are assuming the previous owners are of the "stuff is so important" mindset that they will drop everything and come running to see the 'stuff cleaned up'? Why do people say the things they do? It boggles my mind .
@richardwatts68022 жыл бұрын
@@gigiis526 your assumption of what i assumed seems to be way off, my thoughts were purely about the quality of workmanship - If it helps you my thought process was this was clearly a property that a craftsman who has a lot of pride in their workmanship built to the highest quality, and that they would appreciate seeing what somebody that not only appreciates their work but also clearly takes huge pride in their own quality workmanship does. Not quite sure what you find offensive in that as you say it boggles my mind
