After more than 70 juveniles were detained and cited Saturday night in connection with a major disturbance at a mall in Carson, some parents and relatives of the kids are calling the law enforcement presence excessive. KTLA's Carlos Saucedo reports on July 7, 2024.

Lower class communities that have been poor for generations carry on mental health issues an family problems, mix that with poor schooling and parents who either don't have time for their kids because of work or irresponsibility and you get kids that grow up thinking committing petty crimes is just normal. It's sad to see but it happens in every country and every race. The govt doesn't want to help these areas financially so they end up staying that way unless the families manage to move away somehow.

Actually, in today's schools, especially in certain ethnic majority schools, giving all kids A's happens, so she is probably telling the truth. I know, I am a teacher at one of those schools. The lowest score is usually a B+. and if you give a lower grade, you will be making a visit to the Principals office and get reamed. Ya want your job or not routine.

Maybe there just needs to be more law enforcement, prisons, and judges to put everyone who cannot follow the rules in prison. The populous shouldn't be punished because a few people cannot behave like productive members of society.

When I was 11 I would never have been allowed to roam the streets by myself after dark. Lack of good parenting is a major reason incidents like this are able to happen.
