So dear to see the prophets and apostles that have passed on!

The one that I remember is Elder Bruce R McConkie. I learned that he dressed in his pressed suit every day even the day he died, even when he could not get out of bed anymore. He is a great example of chapter 12 and chapter 20 of what more and more returned missionaries, as well as many sisters and many others are sharing with everyone they love: "The Sealed Portion, The Final Testament of Jesus Christ PDF" by Pearl Publishing

My last Gen. Conference of my mission. I returned home on Halloween 1978 my mission is still the PROFOUND EVENT IN MY 62 years. My heart is so full looking at the Prophet s of my youths we are so blessed to live in the tomes of preparations for the 2nd omming of our Lord and Savior. Remember -- Remember what President Nelson said at the end of General. Conference Spring 2019 “we are running out of time! God bless us all!!!

If the footage of 1916 General Conference was in April, my great great great great grandfather would likely have been in the congregation.

A memorable moment to me was at the end of a Priesthood Session talk by Gordon B Hinckley, President Ezra Taft Benson had gotten up and was standing next to him and said, "Amen". The congregation snickered a bit, and then President Hinckley said, "Remember, that is the Prophet of God who just said, Amen". It was the last time I heard President Benson speak.

Regarding the jacket moment: Pres. Benson had actually directed Pres. Hinckley to tell everyone earlier they could take their jackets off, due to the heat. No one did, until Pres. Benson got up and removed his own.

I was on my mission, watching from Maryland when President Benson took off his jacket. It was very hot there, and he gave us all permission to remove our jackets as well, if we wanted. It was a very humanizing moment which endeared us even more to this great prophet and patriot.

He had to give you permission to take your jacket off? Definitely not unreasonably controlling
@kcb5336 Жыл бұрын
@@AJN8RB no needed permission rather just a moment of respect that everyone waited until or unless the presiding person removed his. A small gesture of respect. You can criticize it if you really want to but what’s to criticize?

I am not Mormon anymore but I was there the day the women stood up and shouted. It wasn’t unexpected; we had all been warned of it in advance, and were advised to ignore them and stay seated. It was over women’s rights.

And after they had partaken of the fruit of the tree they did cast their eyes about as if they were ashamed.

But lo, there may be jam made of it. Let us then make ourselves loaves of bread, that we may place upon it such jam, and it be of the utmost pleasantness and comfort, in such a time. For fruit we should not have eaten, be yay we can from now preserve it's goodness, and extend life, for a time. Neither all bad nor all good. But some of both.

2/3 shouted "NO!" in response to Satan's plan to save us all by force, coercion, bullying ("Obey! Don't Question! The glory to Me!"). Now sadly a much smaller number shout "NO!" to that old devilish plan of SAINT'n and his coercion and silencing the question, "but, why is this not of Christ?"... but now they can't meet with one of the 12w to point out what is not of Christ. Bullying, silencing, forcing, how things have changed. Christ's Bullies...

At 11:59, if that incident occurred in the Conference Center, I bet President Hunter would of hit his head against the wall behind the pulpit. And, at 6:29, I bet President Kimball felt embarrassed!

According to Early Christianity, the pentagram represented the 5 wounds of Christ on the cross, and there are other representations of the pentagram in Christianity. Or if you're talking about the large plaque on the front, it designates the Temple as the "House of the Lord."
