Makes me want to get out the hand crafted dulcimer that we bought back in 1965 on a trip to Gatlinburg.

so I got one of these years ago and ive been wanting to learn how to play it since, however i also don't know how to read music, and the few people who were gonna teach me never got around to helping me learn, do you have any suggestions?
@adamclark-mountaindulcimer6035 ай бұрын
I have great news for you :-) I don’t know how to read music either! I started by learning from Brett Ridgeway who has great lessons right here on KZfaq. If you work your way through his first 12 lessons you will have the foundation you need to play all kinds of songs. Here is a link kzfaq.info/sun/PL-sgANzdpUYmhAnf9TVyHXCRaKAsJoawy&feature=shared

Very well done! What tab did you use? Thanks.
@adamclark-mountaindulcimer60311 ай бұрын
Thank you! I didn’t use a tab, learned that one by watching and following the lead of others on KZfaq.

This is so beautiful! I'm learning dulcimer, I think it'll take me a long time to learn how to do individual notes on strings. I have a good ear, is it just picking and memorizing what fret and string will do what?
@adamclark-mountaindulcimer60310 ай бұрын
Hello! I’m actually planning on doing a lesson series on this very song. Someone else asked about learning it as well. If you are just learning to play across the strings, I recommend working through the 12 lesson series by Brett Ridgeway. It helps you get the basics. Then after that, yes for me it is a matter of Picking and memorizing :-)

Where do you get your arrangements?
@adamclark-mountaindulcimer60310 ай бұрын
Most of these I learned by watching others on KZfaq or picking out by ear. Some of them I learned from Tabs from Steven Seifert's online classes. If there is one in particular you want to learn, I might be able to create a lesson on it so just let me know.
