Morning Journey in a METER GAUGE Train : Khandwa-Omkareshwar (Indian Railways)

The Last of the Rides on this section, this video features a morning ride to Omkareshwar via Khandwa in the Akola-Mhow Meter gauge Train. This section from Akola to Sanawad via Khandwa has now been closed for Gauge Conversion from 1st January 2017. I was lucky enough to get a chance to travel in this section just days before it's closer. Currently these Meter gauge trains are running only between Sanawad and Mhow which includes stations like Omkareshwar Road, Choral, Patalpani etc.

Hi AP, thanks so much for showing a slice of real India. You really ain't aware how much I treasure the MG videos of yours... this is what real India is made of. The background suffused with music, chatter etc... doorplating is the icing on the cake here... sad to hear that the MG would become BG, and we would lose a slice of real India. Actually ur videos of MG's are so immersive, if not for my hectic schedules, I simply would have liked to experience it first hand... I truly commend your efforts and thanks so much for the videos. I occasionally show my mother these videos too and give her an idea of the vastness and variety of India and Indian railways.. she too, is amazed at all these... hats off, keep 'em flowing as ever...

Nice video. Bachpan ki yaadein taza ho gayi. Akola se Ajmer bhi ek train chala karti thi pehle. Meenakshi express naam tha uska. Us gadi ki journey ka 🎥 ho to please vo bhi upload karna. Awesome work brother.

IR should have retained at least the Khandwa-Indore Section.. may be they could have doubled the Track.. such an historic line now only in our memories..

They have Partially retained this line as Heritage now, basically from Omkareshwar to Dr Ambedkar Nagar. MG still runs in this particular Section

@@TRM12130 are you sure it's up to Omkareswar ?? Understand its only upto Choral!! However strongly feel that this MG line should have been retained as it was...they could have laid a separate BG line Indore to Khandwa or Manmad for Indore to have direct connectivity to South... understand this MG line used to connect Chitorghar answer Secundrabad...I don't think there was a longer MG route in India...at least Khandwa to Indore or should have been retained..may even be doubled and increased the frequency so that rail fans could have enjoyed MG line.and especially the MHOW MG yard was so beautiful..Omkareswar station & bridge awesome!! It was a pleasure traveling this MG..
