I had a starling long ago. He would sing along with the violin. They are such despised birds. The city used to poison them. But they are very nice birds really. They can't help that they are so successful that the population sometimes overwhelms the available assets. I also think they are very beautiful. I'm glad this one is safe and happy with you.

@@jklfds85 Starling are considered as an invasive species in the US. Since they tend feed on crops, farmers don't really like them. Also, they tend to reunite at night to sleep, which can be seen as a problem in an urban setting, because they're noisy and they produce a lot of shit. Seriously, I lived in a town in France where starlings migrate every fall. On certain places, you can't park your car under the trees during the night, unless you want to repaint it with bird feces. And yes, it stinks. I still like those birds though.

I'll start with this, if you like birds, you probably DON'T like starlings. The BEST description I can give is this. Cross the personality of fantasy goblins, with the real world effect locusts have on crops. Thats Starlings. 1. Starlings don't sing, they SCREECH. Sure this one proves they can be good mimmics but 99.999% of starlings just screech like a hich pitched crow. 2. They are bullies and cowards. When they are alone, they are cowardly and mind their manners, but if there are more than about 2, they turn into horrid bullies. I've seen them attack songbirds 1/5th their size just becuase they refuse to share space or food with anything that they can beat up or scare off. 3. You rarely see just 1 starling. Most of the time they turn up in groups of 5-10. Sometimes 20-30, immediately scare away everything else, and eat everything in sight in a couple of minutes! With their constant screeching, (seriously, look it up, it's a horriblie sound.) Then they leave in a big screeching swarm having eaten an ENTIRE DAY'S worth of birdfood in 5 minutes. TLDR: They are greedy bullies that make a horrible noise and have a horrible personality.

A starling chick fell from a nest that was maybe 9 days old tops. We named it Cheep Cheep. A local wildlife rehabber took it in. Videos like this make me regret not keeping it instead.

Coolest bird ever. My mom has grackels at her house. They arent the same and dont imitate like that but everyone thinks they are starlings. The grackel is an amazing bird too that people roll their eyes at. And they roll their eyes at people.😂
