Sorry for reposting this. Morocco video was completely blocked worldwide due to an excessive use of Sting and others...( copyright infringement basically ). Thanks to Duncan Peers for highlighting this as I wasn't aware. Video remained pretty much the same as the original but music has been adapted. I might have to rework some of my older videos as well. Apologies if I have waisted precious seconds of your time!

@BromptonTraveler

@@craiglouw4057 Yes, friend from Holland who also loves Brompton joined me for half of this. Route is roughly this: Marrakesh - R203 to cross the Atlas at Tizi n' Test (2000m) descent to Tafingoult to N10 then on to Taliouine, Tazenakht. Due to time limitation I then had to take a bus to Zagora and from there continued North along the Draa Valley to Ouarzazate then P1506 to Telouet, up Tizi n' Tichka pass and down the other side to Marrakesh. Cheers!

Sorry you missed it this time Terry...When you will go you will have a wonderful time. Great country to cycle and lovely hospitable people. I don't argue with copyright it is fair that artists get rewarded. In the past I didn't really bother as videos were not very popular anyway but as views increased all kind of things happen like different countries banning the video or removing soundtrack and so on... Most of my videos are copyright free but the oldest are not so I might have to repost them... Looking forward to hear about Morocco when you do have a chance to go and hope it is soon!

Love the video, but...would have enjoyed some voice over to tell where you were. Who's that other Brompton rider with the orange top and yellow rucksack on his rack? He appears out of nowhere. What did you do for water and how hot was it when you made this trip. Many fascinating questions for a voice over, which I realise is a lot of work. Well done for the video work on this - I want to go there now!
@BromptonTraveler
@BromptonTraveler 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Michael, it's a repost of an older video. I mostly leave my voice out as I find it very annoying but I know what you mean! Friend of mine, who also has toured on a Brompton in the past and he joined for half of the trip. The loop I did from Marrakesh up the Atlas mountains and back has a few pretty remote stretches but every day you cross a few villages if not towns so there are chances to stock up on water. Season was February which is perfect for the arid areas and Marrakech and was OK up in the mountains but can get pretty cold and with some bad luck you can also get snow up there. I was quite lucky as I heard it snowed on top of one of the passes few days after I descended. Highly recommended for a post Covid trip!

Hello, new Brompton owner here. Were you scared of the descents on that bike, or do you get used to the handling in time? Love the video. I hope to do some touring on mine too this summer. Jay from Canada.
@BromptonTraveler
@BromptonTraveler 2 жыл бұрын
Jay, I find that the Brompton is quite twitchy and needs getting used to when not loaded but when I carry bags with weight, as I do when touring, it gets much more stable. Of course you still need to take care when going downhill as the small wheels can be unforgiving if you hit a rock or a pothole. You must always remain focus and ride slower than you would do on a regular bike. Go for it!

Ciao.

Your thoughts on the new Brompton 4-speed P Line? Is the M6 still better for touring due to more gears + ability to still change a gear away on tour if the hub or derailleur becomes defective. Also the P Line frame looks less stiff, maybe it's more of an urban bike.
@BromptonTraveler
@BromptonTraveler 2 жыл бұрын
I usually find that saving ounces doesn't go well with touring when you need to carry lots of stuff with you anyway. Reducing weight in the things you bring is a cheaper option. One can tour with any bike but 6 Gears and rear rack are something I wouldn't do without when touring. It looks like a cool light Brompton option for the city if you can afford it.
@micky7028
@micky7028 2 жыл бұрын
Yeah the p line looks nice but I think you need the full six gears when touring as especially if you hit some steep hill s the lowest gear is a blessing,plus £2400 for a bike that is basically the same but only bag off sugar lighter seems quite an expensive upgrade.

Thanks for the comment. Both have some truth in it but are also exaggerations. I am certainly not a beast cyclist but rather your average cyclist that loves touring and discovering places this way. As far as the second one goes I am definitely someone that loves his space and fairly independent but do not feel sad about it! Bike touring can be a shared experience with friends or in a group but I doubt I would have ever been able to do some of the journeys I did had I waited for a buddy to come along and join me.

I have read comments about that so for some it has happened. I personally never had any issues and I have made very long and steep descents while touring. I suppose it might be down to extreme hot temperatures that can compound the problem and maybe also riding style. I am conservative on descents with small wheels and use the brakes in short bursts.
