I am glad that there are Moroccans as Loukman. I am planning to be a degital nomad and I am working on this meanwhile, and being Morocco kinda helps because of the expanses, but as so many cons were mentioned, they go against the process of work especially that internet is still a struggle here haha. Hope to meet one day, and learn from your experience as an experienced degital nomad Chris

Really enjoy the videos you've done on Morocco, man! I'm just finishing up a week here in Marrakech myself and will be going to Essaouira for a little while next. I found a Facebook group for Essaouira and was reading a post today about internet reliability at the cafes and someone asked about co-working places. That got a whole bunch of people commenting about the nomad scene in Morocco and the co-working place in Taghazout. I think, as Loukman said, that the word just needs to get out about Morocco as a nomad destination option. Airlines are adding more flights from Europe all the time to these areas south of Casablanca, so I think things will continue to grow if we can all help spread the word! Great job with all the work you do to give folks a window into all these different places around the world!

Morocco is a great destination for both tourism and biz. The people are great and the food is excellent. But you guys forgot about the housing when talking about the cost of living.

I would love to hear more about the prices etc... I will probably be leaving to Chiang Mai again soon but Morroco sounds amazing as well.

Sorry we didn't go in-depth on the prices. Like Loukman mentioned, our experience was very different to what would have been a solo travellers perspective. In my opinion, Marrakech is not cheap as a tourist destination. As soon as people see you are a foreigner, you get the inflated price and it's hard to get it down without heavy bargaining. I had some incredibly over-priced meals here in Marrakech but I did find one guy who sells Shawarma plates that were 20dh a plat and were filling and delicious. Unfortunately, these kind of places were few and far between in the Medina. So basically, as a tourist, Marrakech ain't cheap but locals here live very cheap. A standard wage (I was told by a local) is about 300e+ per month.

Staying here for few weeks will surely make you knowing different corners for cheap food for example... Just try where locals are living their lifestyle and avoid touristic spots.. For example Taghzout is a great place and I think it 's cheap though, I have seen surffers from different parts of the world living there just as locals, even retired Europeans doing the same, going to weekly Souks ( Moroccan traditional markets ) for shopping etc ..

Hmm, now I wonder if an Uber for Food could work. They exist for ordering delivered food. But I think we now need one for going out as well.

maybe you don't know to answer this question but...is Morocco a nice country for vegans? thanks in advance!
@ReneeJelyse
@ReneeJelyse 7 жыл бұрын
Ana Pereira Hi, I was a Peace Corps volunteer in Morocco so I lived there for two years. Culturally, it's not vegan friendly. Some people think you're I'll if you can eat meat. However, there are lots of fresh vegetables, fruit, and lentils and chickpeas are cheap as well. There were a few vegan volunteers that I served with and they were able to do fine as long as you cook your own food. Some restaurants do have rice dishes or salads and you can ask for no meat or eggs.

Enjoying all of your videos. HOW do you protect your computer from threats? Is there a procedure you use before you stop working for the day? Is each country you go to a different procedure? Thank you for considering answering these questions.

Perhaps someone has the ability to hack into your accounts for passwords? That an uninvited person will have access to some aspect of your computer? Those for me, are perhaps imaginary, yet some people have said it has happened to them in the U.S.A..... so what safeguards or protocol etiquette do you put in place for yourself as you are working around the world.... In order to protect your content?

What's the alcohol/bar situation down in Morocco?....being a Muslim Country
@ChristheFreelancer
@ChristheFreelancer 7 жыл бұрын
Good question. Firstly, there's a lack of bars and liquor stores but drinking for foreigners is largely accepted. Morocco is described as a tolerant Muslim country meaning that if you're a tourist and don't follow Islam, you're ok. There's still plenty of bars for tourists but Alcohol is not as easily available as it is in Europe.

Cheers Chris.....was kind of thinking it might not have that KL Bukit Bintang thing going on....funny though, when you look up flights and hotels, even from Ireland, with regards to Marrakech, it would be cheaper for me to head off half way round the world to San Francisco, or the other way to SE Asia. Tangier & Rabat look way cheaper. Was in Malaga for a long weekend last year, and had planned to get the boat from Algeciras across to Tangier, alas, Malaga proved to be quite a town.....usually you get Irish & Brits only flying in there to get to the resort towns within 75Km of the airport
