If you're traveling to escape something, understand what it is and confront it
@ChristheFreelancer2 күн бұрын
It's a cliche but I travel not to escape life but to have it not escape me. As I write this, I've been in Bali for over 4 months now. I'm not really tempted to travel until the end of the year (or start of next). Bali is serving me well for the time-being.

Bali is now a touristic place, not for digital nomads anymore. It's good to learn about new places.
@ChristheFreelancer2 ай бұрын
I agree with you to a certain extent. I would adjust that phrase to say, it's not *just* for digital nomads. Definitely a great spot for digital nomads but now you have all kinds of people there (not just digital nomads). I'm talking mainly about Canggu though.

I just came across your channel from one of your older videos in Bali and then watched this one. All I can say is WOW - your storytelling and filmmaking skill is sooo good. I've had some similar storylines to you over the years and am now settled in Gili Trawangan, Lombok. It's a great life. Keep on exploring until you find where feels like home. Bali sounds like a great fit 😀 If you are still working online, we have a coworking space over here now - so keep it in mind for a little island getaway some day. Take care

Hey Chris, glad you have almost settled down! Your journey has been something I have followed. I am a few steps away from being completely location independent. Bali is a destination that was on my list pre COVID, and haven't had the chance to go there since. Maybe this winter I will visit, building my client base whilst teaching at university, currently have a concrete base of 12 clients, i aim to have that base up to 20, then the adhoc clients that come and go! Exciting times ahead for me, and looking forward to more content from you!

When the thong bikini and boom boom aspect of Brazil is out of the equation, its a very expensive and screwball country for the most part.

I wouldn't say it's very expensive but it's nowhere as convenient as Southeast Asia (where the tourism market is a lot more international and developed)

I was there in December 2023, it has become a nightmare of a place. An area strangled in traffic where it takes forever to make even a couple of km, super noisy, polluted, full of obnoxious foreigners, and locals (these always harass you to sell you something). A complete different thing from what I saw in 2019, I don't think I want to go back in there anytime soon. South East Asia is full of places that are wayy better. I guess everyone has his own tastes. Canggu has some cool spot and places but they're all immersed into too much chaos imo
@ChristheFreelancer2 ай бұрын
Thanks for sharing. I read a lot of comments like this before I came back which really concerned me but then when I got here, I realised it’s not that different from what I remembered. I think the community was a bit more down-to-earth back in the day and maybe the traffic is worse but I don’t think it’s gone too far south.

Interesting one. I can definitely relate on sometimes feeling like "you're missing something". I went to Chiang Mai last year and had exactly this feeling, then came back to my girlfriend who lives on the countryside of Taiwan, and even though this place is definitely not a digital nomad hotspot, it just felt right. After my girlfriend's studies this year we might be moving to a more popular spot, but for some weird reason, of all the places in the world, I feel the best just right here. Sorry for the abrupt end to your relationship... btw I was in Gold Coast last week, nice place!

Great content creator (one of the best)! looking forward to your next adventure in Africa. my only advise (and this is from a fan of yours) quite party drinking or at least make it occasional as it will deeply effect your mental health as you party way too much and will appreciate yourself even better. especially with your line of work....... try this for sometime, your videos will take a leap then judge me. all the best Chris

yeah but women on average hop onto the next bloke in no time. mostly because they don't have to do any work just accept or reject advances.
@ericyuan9718Ай бұрын
@@elcapitan6126 Exactly, women devote less time into each of their relationships because on avg, they have the upper hand if they're below 30. More men need to realize that women don't care so men shouldn't either.
