A video on how I installed an electronic ignition conversion kit for my 1962 Morris Minor 1000 NZ CKD Assembled. Converted the old existing points and condenser distributor (Lucas 25D4) ignition system to a solid state electronic replacement. This will mask the issues caused by a worn distributor which I have, there is a bit of runout on the cam lobe shaft which could affect the timing of the motor a bit as it's not so precise anymore. Onto of that my dizzy is very loud. You can head the points opening and closing, sometimes can be a bit hard to start when cold and idles a bit rough.
A electronic ignition kit completely solved those issues, stays running now no more rough idle when cold. Starts easy. I used a power spark ignition kit from Hankswood Classic Car Parts in Auckland. Was $90 plus shipping. Well worth it. I had to set the timing again afterwards.
Also did a speedo cable install as the old one had failed, that was a straightforward procedure. Feel free to use this video as a guide, I've just done what worked for me, I've never installed one prior to this. Make sure you read your installation instructions carefully.
