In this episode we go into detail about all of the welding that Jean has gone through in the two months she has been away. There was so much work done that the car is basically new underneith and I have lots more to do to make her roadworthy! Massive thanks to Morris Millenium who did the welding work and did an incredible job as well.

The wiring is the only major job I did on my 53. I looked at that same spot out of the firewall, and just decided to throw the side cutters at it right there and then. 8 wires needed in the back and 9 in the front including fog lights and spot lights. Also added fuse and relay boxes.

Ok all the very best with the restoration I’m sure you will do a great job! Years ago I bought a Fiat Amigo caravanette from a Vicar in rural west Wales months later when I jacked it up and the sills just collapsed found that he had fibreglassed the sills and filled the sills with religious newspapers the sills cost about £3 each from Fiat at that time l! Days later the engine blew up ! After renovating it I made the mistake of starting it in gear it ran straight into a steel skip demolishing the front end Happy days ! Good luck

Whist the car was bodged and took a lot of work to correct glad you saved it. Thankfully the car is a popular classic and panel work can be purchased new. Imagine if these parts were not available? You should seriously think about protecting the new panels before the onset of damper colder weather. Wax oiling the box sections is best done when the ambient temps are relatively high.

You can also fit a tappet chest cover with a breather if you don't fancy changing the rocker cover.

I think Intermittent wipers are a cheap and useful upgrade. You can get a variable timer online for around £20 . I kept the original switch on the dash and added an extra switch below the dashboard for the timer also you need to take a wire from the motor side of the original switch and take it through the relay switch on the timer. My car is negative earth and has a single speed wiper.

Hi there. Spend the whole morning watching your video's. Keep up the good work. I'm restoring a Morris Minor Van (1971) myself at the moment. I'm doing all of the welding and straitening etc. myself. I like to replace a lot of the worn parts and did quit some upgrades like disc brakes, 5 speed gear box, PU bushes, CSI distributor and lots more. I'm pretty sure the costs will grow up to 10.000 pound. I'm curious what you had to pay for all the welding or is this a to bold of a question?

Because of a few reasons I havent gonei ntro the cost of the welding yet but it certainly wasnt cheap, but you get what you pay for. Im sure your van is going to be incredible once its finished, and those are sensible upgrades to go with.
