I've tried and tried again, but Morrissey always writes my existence better than I ever could. He says exactly what I long to say. At this time in my life, "wish I had the charm to attract the one I love..." springs to mind. Please help the cause against the loneliness....

Gotta be one of the most underrated Morrissey songs, pure quality.

I love this song! MORRISSEY is the only artist in this whole sick world that can put tears in my eyes and yet can make me smile at the same moment.

I can't believe this is almost 7 years old - I remember watching it upon first broadcast. Doesn't seem that long ago.

"this song hit me like a ton of bricks on first listen...just simply outstanding." Same here, yatesy117. One of the best "unknown" songs of all IMO.

It is always a pleasure to hear Morrissey pull out an early solo or Smiths song. His voice has gotten much deeper with age and better for that matter. Say what you will, but at 50, he does a better job of Smiths or solo stuff then he did at 25-35.

The album version of this is superbly done with the sea faring sounds mixed into the druggy guitar drone. It's an altogether powerful piece of music...

I am a poor freezingly cold soul So far from where I intended to go Scavenging through life's very constant lulls So far from where I'm determined to go Wish I knew the way to reach the one I love There is no way Wish I had the charm to attract the one I love But you see, I've got no charm Mmm Tonight I've consumed much more than I can hold Oh, this is very clear to you And you can tell I have never really loved You can tell, by the way, I sleep all day And all of my life no-one gave me anything No-one has ever given me anything My love is as sharp as a needle in your eye You must be such a fool To pass me by Written by Whyte Morrissey
