@315Bodhi174 жыл бұрын
I wish you lonely If only for one day So that you might see routine for me Since the day I was born, born Think of yourself only Of everything you demand Or you want or you need And to hell To hell with everybody else, everybody else Turn the key slowly Remember how I can't sleep Or if ever I do, an earthquake An earthquake couldn't agitate, couldn't agitate Tombs are full of fools who gave their life upon command Of monarchy, oligarch, head of state, potentate And now never coming back, never coming back Tombs are full of fools who gave their life upon command Of Romance gone wrong, the same old glue And never coming true, never coming true Tombs are full of fools who gave their life upon command of Heroin, heroin, heroin, heroin, heroin And never coming back, never coming back I wish you lonely Like the last tracked humpback whale Chased by gunships from Bergen But never giving in, never giving in Source: LyricFind Songwriters: Martin James Boorer / Steven Patrick Morrissey

This album seems to be Morrissey resting his case, after he has changed his plea to guilty?or is it just me? We shall see on Nov 17th-I will be in Berlin that day but hope to see him on Feb 20 2018 in Dublin.

Well thats is an interesting perspective hahaha. But i really have hope about this album. Look, let me tell you, i'm from argentina and lately it's been happening a lot of things that the social media has been used to entretaiment, and the first song "spent the day in bed" was like the air that i need in this times. And this song, when he say's "Tombs are full of fools who gave their life upon command" is like a shot of reality that people need. But anyway, i'm gonna wait for the all album, so i can give a complete opinion. PD: Sorry for mi english :)

Batassassin you make me think of the kids I saw at hong Kong Disney they weren't going on any rides they were just lining up to get a photo with a man in a mickey mouse costume. Even when they had toys they didn't play with them. Kids who Dont know how to play or have fun makes me deeply sad its like they had already given up and they were only five or six years old.

Tombs are full of fools who gave their lives upon command of heroin, heroin, heroin, heroin, heroin....and never coming back, never coming back!.....5th day for me off the junk. Very fragile state. Thank you Moz for helping me quit.
@vaporvoid6 жыл бұрын
I notice a lot of people are going on about how this is disrespectful, saying their parents, grandparents, etc were forced into war and should therefor not be considered "fools", yet I think these people are missing that maybe Morrissey is meaning only people who were actually fools giving up their lives *on their own accord* for a distasteful government/ belief (people who believe in monarchies). I think this is the case because he says "on command", which I take more as... the people jumped at the offer, "for king and country!" "loyal to the state" type stuff... not just anyone who ever went to war. Just those who chose to go to war for a questionable cause (like for the Monarchy)... I could be wrong, but I'd like to give Mozzy the benefit of the doubt, especially considering the theme of this album is anti-Monarchy/ Monarchy beliefs, not anti-citizen or anything like that. Also, he says "romance gone wrong", which I think he's referring to the one-sidedness of a citizen loving a corrupt government (fighting for something and that said something not acknowledging your efforts).
@av2014 жыл бұрын
I agree. Morrissey is not attacking young men who join the military per se, but the sadness of people being desperate for money or prestige and thus signing up to be cannon fodder for the machinations of rich and evil men.

Morrissey's criticizing those who are blindly obedient to authority.

Everyone who dies for his country is a fool. The fact most of them are forced to actually make this only more cruel and absurd, cause dying upon command for politician aims is foolish, its not like dying for a personal ideal for example. i cry for everyone who died forced upon command for NOTHING.
