I've always been a fan of the Smith's and Morrissey but I've never watched an interview with him. I find him extremely intelligent, beautiful, and he has such an insight and perspective that most people,even most artists do not have. He has such an appeal that is elusive but almost tangible. Raw, honest...almost like he doesn't relish the limelight. Very fascinating.

For a working class lad from deep darkest Manchester he is super articulate, thoughtful and intelligent......I just read his autobiography, which is AMAZING btw, and couldn't help thinking how a person from such a background (he describes his schooling & 'formal' education as dire) could write such a masterpiece of prose. It's fascinating. In this interview he mentions that his mother was a librarian, and that he spent most of his time reading.......I presume that kind of explains it.

I could listen to Morrissey all day long, he is very well spoken and interesting human being.

His style of speaking is so unique and poetic...it makes sense when one knows his lyrics.

I’m so glad for him that he had her as his mother. How many parents wouldn’t freak when the kid tells them he doesnt want to work? AND - i wish I could give him a hi five that he got famous and was able to “take revenge” with his words about his terrible school. When you’re a kid, a teenager, having horrible teachers can scar you for life! I had a terrible teacher in 6 grade n how I wish I could tell her off now that I’m grown. He did it for all of us who had horrible teachers!!!

I think the interviewer is Nicky Horne. A very, very good interview asking insightful questions, probing just enough and giving Morrissey the space to answer as fully or not as was his wish. As a result Morrissey is relaxed and opens up. Horne had clearly done his research well.

There's nothing wrong with having Aspergers, unless you think there is. The fact of the matter is its a real condition, and Morrissey has a combination of traits that suggest (to me at least) that he may have a mild form of the condition. I don't see anything wrong with that. I think it's just interesting. And it's not just because he's shy or INFP. There's more to it than that.

Morrissey saying 'plundered into' instead of 'blundered into' (while looking very pleased with himself) will never not be funny to me. Love him so much

You can see he's uncomfortable when asks about his parents..I think he'd much prefer the idea of immaculate conception for himself.

Bohemian working class and very important figure to those who felt disenfranchised. Over sharer lyrically and in general, I did think Morrissey was finished at one point but this has proven not to be the case. Johnny was right, they were the best group in the world. Nick Kent's assessment of their future standing was also correct. Young people are now getting The Smiths.

Labeling is just part of what humans do in order to communicate. "Shy" and "introverted" are labels just like "Aspergian" or "autistic" are. Would you be offended if I called him "shy"? There's nothing wrong with having autistic traits. Do you think there is? We who have them are usually glad to have people acknowledge them in us so that we can better be understood.

I QUITE love Morrissey, he's QUITE a genius, and The Smiths is my favorite band after The Beatles.

His mother was overspoiling him by giving him everything he wanted. Saying its ok not to work is not a good example to set to your children. Being a child of an overspoiling mother and an impatient strict father who has no time to understand his 'different' son can create a fragile or vulnerable narcissist who can't hold down relationships as an adult as no one can ever fulfill the emptiness they feel which is felt from a very early age. They are human eyores, extremely sensitive victims of life who cannot get close to people because of distrust and insecurity. Socially impoverished but silently feeling entitled to be and have the best in life, constantly needing adoration in order to feel validated. They need their brilliance to be noticed. They take on traits and characteristics of people that they inspire to be like as they struggle to find their own identity. Practically making it impossible for them to describe who they are as a person. Hes a beautiful man and interests me immensely but I feel for his eternal sadness. But still, extremely beautiful and a joy to listen to.

I'm just giving some reasons why I think Morrissey MAY have Aspergers. But I pick up on other subtle things about him that also suggest it. We all have different personalities, so Aspergers affects different people in different ways, but there are some typical traits that are common to the condition.

I have Aspergers and I don't live with my mother, I'm that bad on eye contact and I've in an intimate relationship. I don't like that you stereotyped Aspergers people by distilling their behaviour into three easily observable traits that are often never true.

Glastonbury was great...The Smiths, I mean. The audience seemed riveted, intense...bottles flew when there was no encore. I can see M and Johnny up there now dancing. From their perspective it clearly didn't work, but I thought they were extremely good and so did another musician friend. The Smiths and Jacobites were the 80's, most of the rest folly.

I used to love him so much and I am a huge Smiths fan, and he was such a champion of the working class. . His politics these days, to me as a Socialist that grew up in a housing estate, makes me puke. I hate who he is now.

And yes a few years on the Dole, but a more prominent role in the Local Manchestercity Council. . To which he now refutes. But fact. FM. How else would U be signed.. Isreal has been good to Morrissey. And Marr. After all these Years. Marr gets Movie Themes music. And Morrissey gets additional Albums., 'Julia. It's incredible' . Yet. I loved them.
