Morrissey's voice is so wonderful. If you listen closely you can just hear a little bit of northern accent and its adorable.

What are the differences between the northern accent and the other accents of England? I'd like to know, because I'm not a native speaker.

Bit of a lisp, as well. Charming. Of course, the Manc accent is top 3 English language accents.

interesting how the music of The Smiths and Morrissey wins over people who are not native speakers of English. I actually started to like The Smiths before I even knew how to speak a little English. I think the band's own sound and Morrissey's vocal timbre express a feeling common to all people. the feeling of sadness and at the same time poetic.

The combination of Morrisseys vocals and lyrics. The other band members (Johnny Marr in particular) made The Smith's one of the greatest bands of all time. I've always been a Smith's fan and I have watched many interviews with Johnny Marr as I study the same instrument. But only recently have I been interested in Morrissey. As a result, I have found a even higher respect for him and the band.

I don't know how anyone can think his voice isn't stunning, and his singing became even better as a solo artist (although in my opinion much of the instrumentals lacked the magic of the smiths )

Reminds me of this Orson Welles diatribe: "I hate Woody Allen physically, I dislike that kind of man. He has the Chaplin Disease; that particular combination of arrogance and timidity sets my teeth on edge. Like all people with timid personalities his arrogance is unlimited. Anybody who speaks quietly and shrivels up in company is unbelievably arrogant. He acts shy, but he loves himself; a very tense situation." - While I don't dislike that kind of man, it IS a very tense situation ;)

+mcn625 He wasn't a fan of Joy Division because he thought they were false and were just portraying an image. After Ian Curtis's death, Morrisey mentioned how he understood their appeal. There's a video on here called 8 days a week, with Morrissey, George Michael and Tony Blackburn where he discusses Joy Division

his voice is good but his lyrics and melodies are only unique and outstanding when combined with the other members of The Smiths. Without the Smiths he's just a guy with a good voice and those guys are a dime a dozen.
