A good tip when building human kits (whether the superheroes or waifupla) is: Always test fit and sand the joints.

While I haven’t gotten one for myself yet I feel inclined to do so, but what I’ve gathered is “tighten up the joints so it isn’t loose, but don’t tighten them up so much that it breaks”. And that scares me.

I have the non glossy Ironman. It was so good!

I have an Iron man model kit from that brand and don't regret the purchase. It's very nice on display, with lightening eyes, chest and palms. Nice colors OOB. I just had to reinforce hips and arms joints so that they stay in place, but no big deal with a bit of model varnish coat. Overall a good kit.

These problem might just be limited to chrome and metal part exclusive to the kit. I had the 1st iron man they released and it build fine and feel fine playing/posing it. Anyway good review. I might get this one later if i have cash to spare. I remembered the stand thing should have spare part to replace the broken part and a small piece to lock the clamp in place.

I'd highly recommend trying to get the megaman zero kits from eastern model. theyre so fun to pose and comes with alot of accessories

To be fair, they did warning people about the affect of pre-paint version and recommended to sand and build carefully, it is in a small Chinese note that I guess hardly anyone will read!! If you wanna play and pose, go for non-paint version, it's much more fun!!

I’ve built the first deluxe Iron Man kit (Mark 85) from Morstorm and it’s great. That was plated/painted and the plastic didn’t seem brittle.

nice to see some other types of kits making it on here. I would love to see what you think of the DBZ and kaman rider stuff

When I used to work at a hobby store, our location was one of the first to get the iron man kits, had the first 5 in the state.

I finished building mine a week ago it's nice

To fix your hand joint you can super glue in a 6.5mm steel ball and add small magnets like the ones that came with the kit in the hands. Makes it super easy to pose the hand. Not sure how well it'll hold the webs but at least the hands will be easily swapped out again.

I have the mark 46, 49 rescue, 50 and 85..all of them are good.. icant wait to get this one

Mine turned out great too! I had to sand down the hand pegs but other than that a great kit!

When you broke the pieces, was there color all the way through, or was it clear plastic with a color surface coating? (I know the finish and details are only going to be surface painted, but I'm just wondering if the injected plastic had any color or if it's all on the surface.) The inclusion of pigments can drastically effect the durability of the dried plastic, usually for the better, so if they're leaving color out of the injected plastic because you won't see it anyway (or shouldn't, at any rate) that should explain why the plastic is more brittle.

If you have time, check the Eastern Model of Copy X and Zero from the MegaMan Zero. I got myself a Copy X and it's a joy to build and pose, not to mention those accessories, including the lights and batteries. It really is like a Real Grade, especially when compared to Kotobukiya's MegaMan X

To me undergating means it's _much_ faster (and more convenient) than my usual build time since I can just nip the nubs rather than slowly trimming them down with a hobby knife and then sanding them off with a glass file. Cleaning an undergated part takes maybe a tenth of the time of those without.

Are you going to try the rest of Eastern Model's offerings? The Atk Girl kits are what introduced me to this brand.

I got the first Iron Man kit when it came out and it's pretty cool but has some problems. Getting at the head LEDs is a pain in the ass, and the weapon backpack is, well, kinda poopy. Assembling the clip for the stand was a nightmare. Getting limbs to go where you want them can be tricky too. Haven't problems with loose joints though.

Ive built one of the Ironman kits a few months ago and even with the awesome look and aesthetics, man.... it just doesnt holds up. Its a super expensive hand grenade. Is kinda impressive because if i touch and move the kit is like a puppet with every limb dancing in the air, but when i pose it, it keeps...at least for the moment. Its curious because Eastern Model made the amazing Ultraman model kits with Dimension Studio, but the partnership withs morstorm isnt went that good.

I just built their ATK Girl JW-059 and while it has some really neat ideas and plenty of bang for your buck, I found the building experience to be one of the most frustrating I've ever had in recent years. Made me appreciate how Kotobukiya's seams tend to at least be relatively flush. Eastern model's kits have so much potential, but the quality control/execution is just lacking. They're allegedly the successor to Dragon Momoko (their company profile claims they're the "successor to a company that has over a decade of producing animation-based model kits" in Chinese and there's been plenty of "speculation" about it on various Chinese forums), which might partially explain it.

I just finished my iron spider model kit and only one of the metal legs became floppy (but this was after I sanded/filed down the metal parts with a electric hand drill and the raser filer)

By the looks of it, they should have put articulation lower on the list of priorities. Of course the character is known for crazy articulation, but a model kit can only do so much.

Since you're already familiar with model kits from companies other than Bandai, would you mind take a look at a kit called PG Frosty Cat by Nilson Work?

I would love to have this kit but it’s so damn expensive for a model kit in my book.

i also have this kit and i agree thier are parts that are brittle like the panel pices also some parts are hard to put together or is thight like for me the foot so tight i broke both of them but i fix it in a way that it’s not so lose also the spider leg well technically thier not that britle but let’s just say it’s user error for me puting the spider legs in the wrong way causing me to remove and break one of the joints other than that the kit is solid i f you like spider man and the iron spider suite from the movie plus building a model kot this is for you but i will not recomend this for beginners builders as you really need to take good care and clean a lot of part to put it together but if done right it’s a relaxing/ annoying session that when you finish and look at the model it’s just good and feels fresh almost forgot yah also broke the clamp after a month but it’s fine as they include some parts to replace it😅

My fix for the webshooter: pull it out of the wrist, then you could twist it to any twist angle you prefer. also hides the awkward joint gap in the wrist.

Seems like the LED gimmick here shares the same problems with the Megaman Zero EM kit. Is it really hard to just add an easier way to take out the batteries without disassembling the head? Well at least Zero isn't as brittle as Spiderman i guess...

Eastern Models makes some good shit, i think they did a good job on the megaman zero kits, i only have copy x but it is pretty darn good

Clamp type stand attachments just don't work. Just stick a hole in their taint or backside and plug them in.

Strange mix of quality. Was debating gifting one to a non-modeler, but I can see that would be a poor idea.

The iron pieces of the knee joint are wrongly assembled left and right, so the feet and legs will be loose.😅

I built this and had the same problems. I've built most of the morstorm kits, and IMO this one is the worst one. I didn't have this level of problems with the iron man ones I built.

I'd like to sue Mechagaikotsu for permanently ruining my perception of Sidey accessories ever since the Figma Amazing Spiderman review years ago. Seriously it's at the forefront of my mind everytime I look at a Sidey web accessory…
