Everything you said was spot on. This game is only good for the fighting and that has never been what makes a fighting game great. Fighting games are really about how players experience and interact with that "fighting" (obviously the fighting has to be good, but this is NRS so that shouldn't be a factor imo). NRS and WB did nothing to drive a meaningful experience for players. They expected that "if the game works for FGC pros then we will be fine" and pushed out an early access game with free-to-play monetization tactics. If consumers don't fight back with their wallets, this is what were going to get. Don't preorder any NRS or WB games. Don't buy their DLC when it should've already been in the game.

You know the sad part people will buy it. And buy all the I call them roster up date. But apparently it's dlc in fighting games.

I can’t believe you left out my biggest complaints of the game! First Shang Tsung has his own chapter in the story, yet they made him a pre-order bonus,$8 dollars if you didn’t pre-order for a character who is in the game!! Second Quan-Chi and Ermac are in the game a lot and appear to be put together characters yet they are 2 of the characters in the Kombat pack!!

Wait one of Barakas moves is just 6 of the same button in a row 😂 I feel like some of the characters are complicated asf what not to do the same dmg as the simple ones lol

Thanks for the review/rant! I fully agree! So glad I didn't buy it, especially for that price ... If it had an actual 2 vs 2 mode ... even then it wouldn't worth it. Back to the old PS2 games and MK 11 I guess until this is heavily discounted and actually finished.

For me the most annoying is not being able to tag moves since I am person who spends lots of time in the lab with all characters

for me i feel adding the assist system made the playable characters moveset limited/shorter like less launcher moves , same combo route for most characters etc ..

The indiana jones skins are in the shrine. That’s why i want something thay tells us if things are exclusive to the shop.

I have asked for some sorta tag in the shop so we know if things are exclusive to the shop or if they can be found in mastery or towers etc.

Not shit to do in offline mode. I may be done with one of my favorite franchises. 🤦🏾‍♂️

I love your passion. I do, but I am not have to disagree with you here. This game was in development for a long time it seems. The fault should not be on the developers as much of it is the publisher. I do think things will get more fine-tuned as the community continues to address things and NRS is responsive with tweets and complaints about bugs. We just need to be patient

Also, for the gear options, I think each character should get 1 to 3 gear slots based on what they have to customize and gameplay. I don't want unnecessary customization that doesn't amount to anything for the character.

I agree with you in everything, except that Invasions are better than the towers of time, to me is a pain in the ass all that walking, oops, an ambush! aaaaaaaaaah

In the past Mortal Kombat games, the soundtrack was not memorable for Injustice one stage theme like Atlantis throne room stage was good. Also Gorilla City theme was memorable and the second stage in Kahndaq that thing was good to me. So don't be surprised when NRS has bland soundtracks for the games. In my opinion, the whole Mick Gordon being turned down at NRS was okay in my book because I don't think his music fits Mortal Kombat , and don't say Doom and Killer Instinct together is Mortal Kombat no. Killer Instinct is father away from Mortal Kombat for any comparison. When you say that you devaluing Mortal Kombat as his own unique thing. Underhand with Doom I can see where you're coming from but no cigar.

I went back to playing Scarlett mk11 last night and it plays so much better. I hate the huge hit boxes in this game it is lazy as hell.

Yeah, this game sucks. The original Mortal Kombat was my first game I ever owned, so this franchise has a lot of my heart. Options-wise MK 1 is so basic and it feels like they put a game out just to put a game out. Very much a lack of creativity in this game. And “secret fights” aren’t very secret when you don’t have to do anything to trigger them, and they are ALWAYS popping up every other match… Just a poorly developed game, Like it was made by first time programmers. But yeah, it sucks.

This gams is horrible online and at a competitive level. Its laughably unbalanced with baraka, Johny cage and raiden being so broken and brain dead to use. You guess wrong twice, make a mistake twice then you lose because 70% of characters can do 50% damage combos easily. Then you have busted assists like cyrax. The netcode is very average, and there is no cross play lol Finally, the pc port is horrible. I cant believe i got the ultimate edition on day 1 lol

I agree with a lot of what you said, however as far as i know i thought that the reason why the had sk many features missing from MK11 in this game is because they had to recreate the way their games work from the ground up because its a new game engine they are using.

It’s not just an issue with mk1 were games are expensive yet incomplete. It’s a problem with most modern games tbh. While mk1 in my opinion is still a good game, I can’t help but feel lots of stuff is incomplete
