My suspicion is that because of Liu Kangs tampering, Edenia has now conquered Outworld and not the other way around. This is visible from the beauty and prosperity that Edenia has possibly brought to Outworld in its appearance. However I think Edenia wishes to do this to other realms as well for some cause of greater good maybe. This is why Jared and Liu Kang decided to create the tournament again, to use it as a measure of which realm conquers the other after victory. Sindel is clearly presiding over the tournament with General Shao as her subordinate. The only difference is Shao must hate Edenians and the whole idea of the tournament and would rather conquer directly. This might be why you see him killing the Umgadi royal guard.

"That rounded up the roster, right? That was the last three people?" Admittedly, that was only 2 as Raiden was already confirmed at launch...and there are still 3 spots remaining in the main roster after Sindel and General Shao's reveal (and 1 more kameo spot left as well). Now...we are fully aware of one character as Reiko was seen as a character you're about to fight in leaked cutscene footage of one of the comic-cons these past few months (the same one that confirmed Motaro would be a kameo as he was seeing as Reiko's lacky in the cutscene) and we're 99% certain that Nitara will be the second due to what was hinted in another leaked cutscene. The true question is who will be revealed last. Many believe it will be Onaga. Many hope it will be Jade or Sonya. Hell, there's even a chance it could be Kronika due to what was revealed in footage of the first 17 minutes of the game. Either way, the mystery is something I've been grateful for as not even those trying to leak the roster have a clue.

I would love to see Kabal personally but there’s been no hint of that.

@@mediaglitch I personally believe that they're going to save the rest of Earthrealm's characters like Kabal, Sonya, Kano, Jax, Erron Black, and Striker for MK2 since MK1's being set in Outworld (where they only need a handful of Earthrealmers to experience the world alongside the viewers while the majority of the roster is from Outworld and beyond). So we're probably looking at characters like Jade, Onaga, Kintaro, Bo' Rai Cho, Duroc, or a young Shujinko from Outworld. Or maybe Sareena, Kai, or Jataaka from the Neatherrealm. Anything's possible as MK has quite a history.
