Yes! I agree! According to intro dialogues it is the Matron Superiors who blames her and covered it up…. According to Li Mei’s intros with Sindel, Mileena, Tanya, Kitana…

Despite the rather sad story, I'm really impressed with how they give an underrated character such depth on her first reboot after so long. Li Mei was my favorite character during the 3D era, I was so happy when they announced her return, I'm even happier now that she didn't end up a jobber or a dull side character but with a chapter of her own and a compelling story arc

@@IAmVisionXo| my guess is either 1. Reiko in an attempt to impress Shao 2. Shang Tsung disguised as Li Mei or someone who looked like Li Mei 3. Shao in an attempt to make Sindel loyal to him 4. Mileena when her Tarkat kicked in 5. Havik as he probably felt Outworld was being ran by a “tyrant”

My theory is, there is an intro between Sindel and Ashrah, where she tells Ashrah “Sometimes I don’t feel real, like I’m a ghost” and Ashrah states “there is something gravely wrong with your soul, Empress.” The theory I have , is that she will be separated from Ermac, and will become a Banshee…. This leaves way for an expansion pack, and maybe while within Ermac she encountered her Ancestors who told her of a First Born sister who was taken from them to become Umgadi…. (Li Mei)

I haven’t gotten through the full story, but like the way Sindel, Mileena, and Kitana treating her is so infuriating. I want Li Mei to beat them up in her chapter whenever they come.

Especially when she gets punked by General Shao and Reiko, among others. They played her like a joke. Hopefully in a later story she will get her flowers and an apology from the royal house, and be pardoned from punishment.

Man, even the game itself didn’t give Li Mei a break. Just lose any of her fights in her chapter. They did not hold back in her failures. :(

I am very surprised with Kitana and Mileena's VA, they are voiced by the same person, yet you can tell the difference between their voices. And then we have Megan Fox, nothing personal against her, but her performance wasn't at par woth most of the cast.

Nah don't get me wrong I love the Royal Family. (Li Mei Inculded) They honestly had no reason to treat her like this and it makes me sad as fuck. Seeing Li mei getting hated on by my favorite character (Sindel) is just wrong. I think if she didn't make assumptions Li Mei would've never been mistreated like this by the royal family. As Jerrod confirmed she wasn't the reason why she couldn't protect him or why he died. She deserved more in this.

Me too and I support Li Mei and I don't bully her either. And I Mileena, Kitana and Sindel mistreated like Li Mei's evil Step Sisters and her evil Stepmother like Cinderella have the same thing

@Jadasworld24 That's not really an accurate comparison. Cinderella was treated poorly out of jealousy at best, and for no reason at worst. Li Mei was essentially framed for negligent homicide by the Matrons, and given that the victim was both the Emperor and the husband and father of the main people who hold her in poor regard, it makes sense. It doesn't make it right and it doesn't take away from the fact that Li Mei *absolutely* deserved better and still deserves a genuine formal apology (plus compensation of some sort). However, they aren't even remotely similar. Ones a situation of narcissistic jealousy and the other is one of several people being lied to and exploited irt the murder of a loved one.

Yes ): it can be disheartening but let’s remember….. this is a Monarchy, and usually within these types of atmospheres (to my knowledge) it’s the Queen’s way or no way…. Which is why it’s important they those within the Royal Family should be the voice of reason and listen… but they were too caught up in Jerrod’s death to hear Li Mei out..

@@IAmVisionXo In other words, years of service and it's all her fault and she waited just for that moment to hate her and then forgive her just because she did a good deed and let's say that Sindel, I didn't really like her either, she was so blind, she only prioritized the well-being of her daughter, while the rest of her people suffered from the Tarkatan, and one of them was Baraka and not to mention that she is already looking for a husband for Mileena and that she wished that Kitana was born first, instead of Mileena. It's just like Wakanda forever.

@@soulwarrior5791 I don't mind the zoom in but it went on for way too long & the content of their conversation isn't anything new either, us - the players already knew about everything that Liu Kang told Li Mei before this scene so it just feels extremely redundant to me
