I really don't understand why people say this game has awful pay to win microtransactions. The premium store is the only microtransaction thing in this game, yet it has nothing that's pay to win. Why are people like Joe getting so pissed at this game's microtransactions?

AJ’s great at all facets of his videos. He gets what he’s owed not from me or you, but from many years of consistently good content production, building his fan base out of his undeniable love and hate of good and bad games, and never turning on or cashing out on that fan base like so many have.

My tactic for buying new games for a while now has been that I wait for AJ review if it's reasonable to believe that it's coming. Unless I'm sure about the game, even then I never buy them day 1 anymore. CB2077 maybe, we will see. I also like AJ reviews because of how whole they are, and well thought of. AJ and I don't always have the same angle on things, but I think Joe is good in bringing up that something is subjective without hammering it in, as some other people do. It's easy for me to understand when AJ is speaking of his opinion and of which aspects I should form my own of. Otherwise the reviews are always very through and through

I also felt like he did too many rapid fire reviews which were often relegated to Del who is very knowledgeable but he's not Joe. The quality and time spent on making the review was less than the regular format, and it came off as requiring less thought. I think this occured not because Joe is lazy but actually because he is working hard and spreading himself too thin with all the other content.

Without spending money, I’ve obtained over +7000 Time Crystals. This game is pretty damn gifting in terms of their drop-rate, and you can easily get 1000 in a hour or two. The choice for the purchasable currency, is just if you don’t have enough time to farm. And keep in mind, it’s not pay to win either-(only has Cosmetics, including Intro and Outros). It’s not that difficult.

That's the problem. Are they full priced anymore? Or is $60 just what you're used to? These games should cost 80-100 if they were actually full priced. I think AJ plays it down a bit because he loves MK so much. They got their money at the point of purchase, using mobile style grinding to wear down a player like Oliver Twist begging for more is unacceptable under any circumstance and yes I say that in spite of the fact that they "patched" it. A standard "triple AAA" tactic of pushing the envelope so far that when they shift the goalposts back - to the people who aren't paying attention - suddenly what they actually shifted it back to doesn't seem so bad. I grew up in the 90's-early 2000s so I'm part of the crowd that remembers when you bought a video game... You got a full and complete video game for your money, so I stand behind Jim f***ing Sterling ( son ) 100% on his stance of: If you cannot do what you're supposed to do ( in this case sell premium priced video games as full complete packages without micro transactions ) and afford to stay in business, then you don't deserve to be in business. My own little addendum to that stance is quite frankly I'd happily see every single one of these "triple AAA" publishers and developers go straight to Davey Jones' Locker and take literally every single one of their decades old IPs with them to be never seen again; if it meant that games wouldn't be chopped up, mutilated and - quite frankly - raped to squeeze every penny they can out of an already paying audience.

Just take an older MK game like Deception. Healthy roster, tons of unlockables, an open-world adventure mode, a puzzle side game, a Chess side game, a combat system that was pretty deep and sophisticated for the time and still holds up today for the most part, different stances and weapons you could swap in-game, three types of finishers for each character, stage transitions and deathtraps that were kind of cheap but made you stay on your toes but evened the odds against a cheap opponent, local and online multiplayer (on the Xbox and PC version), a Krypt and currency system that wasn't grindy or made you bang your head against the wall or force you to only be able to buy certain things at certain times before a deal is up and you lose your chance despite everything being IN-GAME... I shouldn't even have to bring up the DBZ Budokai or Smash games that were just as fleshed out if not more. What's worse is that these games were from a decade ago. We have newer hardware that can more than handle all these same modes and unlockables in the base game but they take the scummy corporate way out and only do an arcade, online, and if we're lucky we get one other mode, then lock cheap gimmicks and things we actually want behind a paywall. "Old games didn't have effort put into them" headass. Ya'll kids need to educate yourselves, smh.

Actually, I think it's the other way around. I hated the gear system in Injustice 2. Everything dropped completely randomly, and you had no control over what you got, no idea how to collect certain gear pieces, and no idea what gear pieces were in the game. Not to mention each gear piece has stats, so your favorite looking gear piece could suck, while the one you hate could be really good. In mk11, however, gear pieces were for aesthetic only. You could view each piece even if you haven't unlocked it yet, and the game would tell you exactly how to get it. And if we're talking about microtransactions, then I think Injustice 2 is also worse than mk11. Some of the shaders in injustice you had to BUY USING SOURCE CRYSTALS, AND COULDN'T UNLOCK THEM THROUGH GAMEPLAY. It doesn't help that you need 4,000 to 6,000 of them to buy just ONE, and it takes forever just to get 100 source crystals. You're better off buying them for 5 bucks than actually playing the game. In mk11, all of the kosmetics could be unlocked through gameplay, and it would tell you EXACTLY what you need to do to get them.

@Angel Gutierrez well, if you count GTA Online, *RockStar Games* has actually been doing it for a lot longer than that. It’s all about seeing how much money they can make while giving as minimal amount of effort needed. This was why GTA5 never got that Story DLC they were promising back in 2013 because they later realized it was just easier to rake in a ton of money from the online mode instead.

@@MrJH101 That is why I waited for sale and bought GTA 5 for the single player story and didn't even bother with the GTA online. MK doesn't have the amount of content that GTA have, Rock Star gets away with it because GTA Online is like a side/spinoff thing They do the same with RDR2 right now and no one bothers after GTA online but they sell full single player experience of quality that is why they have such good sales numbers.

Litteraly if you’ve played for more than 2 seconds you would realize that you don’t need to grind or spend a cent to get the cosmetics. I’ve litteraly played the game for like a week and i have accumulated 7,000 time krystals.

@@samuelclemmons3915 But it's not needed in MK. The time of, selecting a character, and fight is gone. Now it has RPG elements that you need to grind for. I also do not mind fighting a couple of more matches to get more stuff. This is where I would say, fine. But, you can tell that they want others that do not have enough time, or don't have the patience for it, to pay for it. In each and every game out there, they plug in microtransactions, where they aren't needed. I am not one of those cry babies that are allways against microtransactions, but not in a fighting game. Put that somewhere else!

There's been games that did it long before Anthem, so by that logic Anthem stole it from games like Fortnite and those before and MK was already doing the krypt concept for years. That and NRS isn't nearly as bad as Bioware, horrible comparison.

Scorpius Q2 Its not really as bad as the video says. I haven’t had to purchase a single thing in the game and the towers have gotten easier. That being said, consumables are still NEEDED in some towers that are just...dumb. If you really enjoyed MKX, I recommend it. It improved a lot from that game.
