He is a problem for most but not totally unstoppable his teleport is easy to catch even with the delay either uppercut jump forward or neutral jump into a combo when he pops up blocking will get you toasted

Don Wax Even against players who anticipate the teleport, delaying just a second can be tough to defend against. As a Lao player it’s best to mix delays with regular teleports. The more unpredictable the teleport is, the better the chance the follow up attack will land.

@@deludedmusic2023 the only teleport hard avoid without blocking is scorpian because of its speed and it's overhead attack you can make it miss sometimes with a neutral jump or trying a jump combo but don't get use to doing because it doesn't work everytime but when you can catch it take full advantage

Update: I discovered that double tang then spin is difficult to juggle combos. Has anyone experienced this before? It happened to me today. I cannot seem to extend the combo with another amplified spin.

Ive been maining lao since early may and i just dropped him recently for baraka since hes so bad. What pisses me off is that the dive kick isnt an overhead, so the opponent has no reason to stop ducking. I use hat tricks, and i looked through his entire movelist and he has a grand total of FOUR overheads. this includes his jump and hop attacks as well. If you dont believe anything you have seen when people say he is bad, someone (i forget who) on youtube just did a 45 minute video explaining how bad he is. so yeah it really pisses me off when people call lao high-top tier just because they dont know the matchup. thanks for reading my essay

You don’t just use AMP Z Hat. You can also cancel the ability by pressing two downs while it’s performing. Most Kung Lao player never use the cancel and they spend too much Offense Bars on AMP Z Hat or never use the move a lot. The cancel spends only your Defense Bar which is not a big deal. After what basic combo I perform, I always go with Z Hat AMP or cancel to combo, pressure, or grab next. There’s still potential to combo after AMP Z Hat.

Reycount i disagree with you, I’m in grand master too and I’ve fought tons of scorpions to a point that it’s almost stupid, literally 96% of matches are against a scorpion. The other 4% left are people that use another character and immediately switch to scorpion when u beat them. It’s just disgusting..

Noire Geo yes and plus on frame so you forward one straight into grab if they block. Mix it up a bit because if they think you’re going to grab forward one three into amplified spin to get full combo

I just bought the game yesterday and Idk how to special cancel moves: the tutorial shows u an easy character to special cancel a move but i struggle making combos with sub zero (i can't special cancel the back 143 into the back foward 3) and noob saibot (can't special cancel as one into teleslam).

It could be because your inputs aren’t clean, for example if you’re playing sub you have to only hit b143 then cancel into slide, if you hit anything extra or twice it won’t work properly. Best of luck to you in your mk journey!

Your definitely way better than me at this, even with this guy, but I know what your saying that about mid. Usually I end up resorting to mind games, I'll take air teleport and either pretend to do that or that diving kick or just jump up, the weaker ones will try to block and then sometimes I can just walk up and do a throw if I see the air teleport or dive kick isn't going to work.
