I will never forget being a kid and leaving the theater with my best friend and his dad after seeing this movie. That TV Show with Kristanna Loken (future Terminator 3 T-X) was pretty fun in a cheesy way, at least that's how I remember it.

I saw this movie in theaters opening weekend. I remember people being super hyped for this movie for some reason. This was the first time I saw a movie so bad in theaters that I started laughing out loud, mocking it MST3K style with my brother the whole time. This and Spawn are probably the two worst movies I've ever seen in theaters, and therefore I have fond memories of them both.

This was the first movie I can remember actually thinking it was bad. I wanted to like it so had but my god this was the worst. I'll still watch it tho and I don't know why.

My friend said MK:Conquest actually DID screen in Australia! One of those 6am TV shows haha!

MK Conquest did originally air in Aus ( at 3am during the weeknights), and was available on region 4 dvd for a brief time later on. Very similar production values to Hercules/Xena. If you want to see a good portrayal of Shao Kahn and a very dark ending, check it out!

When this came out in theaters originally, I went and saw it on a matinee after I got off from work. I couldn't process how bad of an experience it was to the point where it just never occurred to me to even tell people don't see it. It was like driving long distance to somewhere not fun. You just don't talk about the trip because it doesn't matter.

You didn't mention the fact the movie is a workprint and was never finished. Test screeners gave a positive reaction and the studio ripped the money away and called it done and released an unfinished movie. I doubt it was going to be much better, but I thought that would have been some interesting Mortal Krivia.
