Kung Lao is too cocky and underestimates his opponent, you could see it in the fight, Liu allowed him to think he was winning half way through the fight and that little overconfidence cost him the whole fight.

Judging from the cutscene, it seems that Kung Lao is actually listening to Liu Kang this time. I'm sick of his ego getting the better of him, that's why his dumbass is always getting killed. He overestimates himself just because his ancestor was The Great Kung Lao.

Kung Lao has the most victories canon wise behind Liu Kang Lol Lao has defeated Goro, Kintaro and even beat the Deadly Alliance (Shang & Quan) at the same time something Liu Kang has never done

@@Jaez808 Perhaps Lao is second best Shaolin, but by no means fighter. I think Scorpion and Sub zero have something to say about that.... Krillin is Goku's best friend, like Lao is Kangs best friend. Krillin and Lao's death caused Both Goku and Kang to rage and defeat their foes. Both Krillin and Lao have "disk" signature attacks. Lao has his disk hat and Krillin has destructo disk. Both Krillin and Lao have both been rivials and jealous of their Best friends at one point and tried to out do them. Both died... Both were trained by an old master. Both are somewhat comic relief. They have more in common than Lao and Vegeta... Vegeta was a villian and hated gokus guts but eventually learned to respect him as a fighter and learned to tolerate him. And even see him as somewhat of a friend and definitely a rival. My comparison isnt about who or how many foes they've defeated....Lol

It’s a mobile game bro, were you expecting some entirely new assets? The fact that they have these amazing cutscenes with the assets is great enough.

@@josephtpg7329 yes. I did expect more, why? Because NRS hyped this up as “ground breaking, console-like experience built directly for mobile. Video cutscenes ripped from a PC is extremely underwhelming. Not to mention the actual game itself is lackluster and they already have a mobile MK game. Such a waste of time.

Unfortunately there’s no defined answer yet, but most of the speculation considers this the timeline Fire God Liu Kang created.

New timeline that takes place not too long after the first tournament. Earlier in the game when Scorpion attacks the Shokan, Baraka, and Sheeva say it's Scorpion from the tournament and that Shao Kahn is still ruler of Outworld so the MK tournament happened before all this. Not to be confused with Fire God Liu Kang new era.
