*SIGH* Shame on you, James...shame on you. Why? You totally forgot to mention Kung Jin's voice actor: Johnny Yong Bosch. For those who don't know, JYB (for short) is a prolific anime voice actor, best known for anime like Akira, Bleach, Code Geass, Trigun, and (mostly recently) Demon Slayer. And before that, he played Adam Park, the second black Power Ranger in the OG Power Rangers show. Don't get me wrong: I wasn't expecting you to mention EVERY voice actor (like Andrew Bowen, who is the current voice of Johnny Cage since MKX) but if you're gonna go into extensive detail for Jin, I WOULD like you to know a bit about his voice.

Honestly one of my biggest complaints with Mortal Kombat, a franchise I adore, is how little respect they have for their voice actors. They recast them almost every time. I get that for like MK1 because that's an entirely new universe, but it happens every game.

With few exceptions All the voice actors in both the games and animated movies sound amazing and give a lot of personality to their characters. Even the movie actors who haven’t played those characters in years still sound awesome especially Cary Hiroyuki Tagawa. And the crossover characters too who actually had their respective actors reprise their roles (with the exception of terminator but even then arnie picked the VA himself)

Absolutely loving the Mortal Kombat Kill Kounts. As a kid born in the late 80s, I grew up with the franchise but sadly fell off a bit once I started to get lost in the storyline. Never even realized they “rebooted” the timeline in MK9! This is hyping me up so much to get back into it, thanks for putting so much effort and love into such a legendary franchise!

MKX is easily one of the best "passing the torch" stories of the past decade, the insane quality of the new characters definitely made it stand out, cassie in particular being a perfect descendant of Johnny and Sonya

@@voiceddentalfricative1814 some background! In fighting games, you can block while crouching or standing. Most fighting games use a system of hit types where each attack is separated into one of 3, overhead, mid, or low. (Mortal Kombat also uses highs as a fourth type, but that’s not relevant for this example. Crouch blocking lets you block lows, but you get hit by overheads, standing blocking let’s you block overheads, but you get hit by lows. Most moves can be followed up by another move of the same or different attack type, and a 50/50 is when you block an opponent's move, and they can attack with either an overhead OR a low. True 50/50's are incredibly powerful, but they are fortunately rare as most overheads are slow enough for you to see coming and change your blocking position.

@@TotallyNotUni It's also important to note that 50/50 just refers to any situation where you have to guess between two options, and can't block both. High/low is a classic 50/50, but if an opponent is jumping at you they can do a front/back 50/50 where you don't know if you need to hold backwards or forwards to block. Some games, like street fighter, can make attack/throw a 50/50, where you have to guess if you need to block an attack or break a throw by pressing throw yourself.

This game had some INSANE DLC. Anyway I’m sad this didn’t get pointed out but there was 1000 things going on haha. Kung Jin was played by Johnny Yong Bosch who voices Nero in DMC, a couple other games, Ichigo in Bleach, and he’s a freaking Power Ranger!! This game had some insane voice actors bringing these characters to life! The new games are so cool and I’m super glad you decided to do these videos. Great work James.

Kung jin is a perfect example of representation for my community, hes got a personality and isnt just "im gay and its gonna be all i am cuz im a stereotype" the fact that its only mentioned once in reference to him being accepted for who he is not who he loves is amazing, because thats all it should be, a small barely perceptable part of who we are as a person, and not the only part of us

This has got to be my most favourite Kill Count to date simply because of how much I knew James loved recording this video (despite the 164 UNNAMED KILLS, HOLY FUCK)

Can't wait for Mortal Kombat 11's Kill Count whenever that happens , the ones for 9 and X were done extremely well. Also that was one of the best transitions to the numbers

@ScumAnt MK9 was the first introduction to fighting games for me when I was 12, and then MKX came out and that was when I got actually really good at the game. Scorpion and Liu Kang being my top two mains followed by Erron Black and Kotal Kahn. Not such a huge fan of MK11 or MK1, but the graphics seem to get better and better.

21:28 Should probably mark this as two kills because among the animations that play, there's another one of a Tarkatan coming through the portal plays out, but not seeing the guards flanking the portal. So one of them casually walks up behind the Tarkatan, beats him over the back of the head with his gun, then shoots him in the back while on the ground, followed by dragging him off screen by one leg. There's also another of a refugee coming through the portal, and a Tarkatan comes out behind them to grab them as a shield with his blades out as a threat and drags them back through the portal, but I guess that one can't be confirmed if the refugee dies or not.

James you have no idea how excited I was when I saw that you uploaded this video since I loved the last video that you did for "Mortal Kombat 9" and I'm so excited to see the next two videos that you do for both "Mortal Kombat 11" and "Mortal Kombat 1" and I also hope that you don't stop at just the video games and continue doing videos for the "Mortal Kombat Legends" film series starting with "Mortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion's Revenge" because I honestly want to see your take on the film series as well. Also love that you keep cosplaying as different characters from the franchise so I can't wait to see who you're playing next. Keep up the good work, you're awesome!

Loved seeing Mortal Kombat get kill counts. MKX is my favorite of the series, even though I suck at fighting games. The only true shame is you can't play as corrupted Shinnok, I get why he's OP since he's the campaign boss, but the design and abilities were so cool.

Fun fact: The Raiden line isn't the only time Kung Jin's sexuality is referenced. There's a pre battle interaction between him and Tanya where Tanya tries flirting and he tells her that she's "barking up the wrong tree".

Jax, like Baraka, is voiced by Greg Eagles, best known as the Grim Reaper in "The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy", while his DLC skin is voiced by Carl Weathers, last seen on the Kill Count in "Predator" (1987), he was the Golden Chainsaw winner. Jacqui, like Sareena, is voiced by Danielle Nicolet, who was in a couple "LEGO Marvel" games, "Naruto: Shippuden", and in "The Flash" TV Show, where she played Cecile Horton-West.
