It was, it's just that this video was originally released a little while before it was actually April Fool's Day (late March). Apparently Phelous had a habit of doing April Fool's videos on not quite the right day back when.

Sorry Im not too knowledgable bout you yet, Just discovered you since you started posting to youtube. Thats how I found out bout Nostalgia Critic, Linkara, and Lupa. Just finished watching your vids on all the living dead failures, and I have to say.... you read my mind. Especially when it comes to the 30th anniversary edition of the original. I remember watching that on cable knowing they were brand new scenes and wondered why the hell they had been added.

Love all the meta references in this review. For example.. 2:07 .if I ever meet who did these effects, I'll punch them...(hits himself)...yeah, like that. Also, watch his review of Mortal Kombat Journey Begins. (And pretty much all his kombat-related reviews) Sub Zero calls him out on it.
