It's orange and it's soviet. It's special.
Reviewing soviet cars is like eating cheburek. Never get enough of it.
Moskvich 412 is a car made from 1967 up to 2001. I guess some things just do not need upgrade.

I feel like this is one of those cars where you think it's slow because it'll probably only go about 110 kmh max but when you're driving it 80 kmh feels like 350 kmh because it shakes, over and understeers and everytime you hit a pebble you fear that the floor will fall out and the bolts come out.

Ya nothing more satisfying than using your left foot to hit a nice big "button" on the floor.. It was smart when you think about it.. Why lift your whole arm up when all you have to do is evert your foot two inches? My 1975 Chevy c-10 truck has it. No fancy shit at all to break. Just levers and switches. Simple is better. Try tracing a corroded wire in a new car. By the time you locate it you might as well buy another car.
@PeugeotRocket
@PeugeotRocket 7 жыл бұрын
Horatio Huffnagel If you drive a manual and you are shifting, then a foot button is inconvenient. What if you are shifting right when a car comes around the corner? At least with a stalk you can slide your hand to it while turning. Also, you never have to worry about missing the button. I bet safety is the reason why the floor button was done away with. Also, simple may be better for easy repairs but I'd much rather be pampered and surrounded by technology like in modern cars. I wouldn't trade any of that for easy repairs.

Maybe he meant Nitrous oxide. Disguising the NOS bottle as a fire extinguisher helps keep the secret that the tame looking car is actually a fire breathing, rubber burning, "sleeper". Of course, after you use it (assuming you survive), then you will wish you still had a real fire extinguisher handy. And that you'd upgraded your pancakes. Err... I mean brakes.

Actually, people loved Moskvich for its comfort. Ladas have stiffer suspension than Moskvich. AZLK stopped assembling these cars in seventies. But they made restyling. It called "Moskvich 2140". In eighties AZLK made new car - "Moskvich 2141". It was completely new car. It had 2.0 Renault engine. So, you can call "Moskvich 2141" a soviet hot hatch. It was their last car. In 2001, AZLK closed. (sorry for my bad English)

Next to your travel videos and two hardbass songs that regularly get played on my mixtapes,( man you need to do more!) , this is among your very best - you need to do more of this, because yeah other than those ,this is the best! I really hope that even though two years have passed, you would consider covering a couple more Soviet cars... honestly, make another one of these ;and I'll donate to your Patreon at least 20-30 bucks, not that that is enough but I'm poor LOL

My dad had one of these. Back then it was something special. He fine tuned it, by polishing intake and using stronger valve springs and bore the engine. In the end he got about 90hp out if and back at that time, especially in the eastern block, THAT WAS something. Unluckily the fenders where rusted out and it was impossible to get replacement and the kicked up sand would scratch the windscreen so he used giant plasters to cover the holes.
