6.5 Creedmoor is an excellent cartridge for long ranges. Not only does it reach out far, it does so with great accuracy. Now, many shooters who want to get the most out of this fine cartridge turn to handloading it. This way, they can control all factors and adapt it exactly to their rifle and their needs. That is all great and well, but not everybody wants to go that far. To get the best accuracy out of 6.5 Creedmoor, we have tested a lot of factory loads for you. The ones that impressed us the most, you find here.
To determine which factory loads give you the best accuracy, we used 5-shot groups from a wide range of rifles. This way, we made sure that the achieved accuracy is really the result of the rounds fired and not just the gun. That being said, you still should test the accuracy with your individual rifle to make sure that you do actually get the performance out of these rounds as we did.

This evening i went out and shot a 5 shot group with my Tikka Tac A1 at 750 yards on a steel silhouette. Went and measured the group with electronic calipers. The 5 shot group was 3.584". That is 0.47 MOA. I was really surprised. I wasn't even in a very comfortable position either. I was on top of a mountain with a bit of a downward angle and my Atlas bipod was on a dirt mound which meant i had to really elevate the stock to see the target. Every bit of my beanbag was utilized and then some. It was also fairly windy. The trigger is 1lb. Optic was a Night Force ATAC-R 7.5-35x56 with Mil-xt reticle in a SPUHR mount. Atlas Bipod has spikes with cleats. Bubble level is a folding US Optics that i hate but haven't swapped out yet. All together, about 6k for the whole set up. I was shooting Federal GMM with 130 gr. OTM Berger bullets. I had a bunch of consecutive head shots with some missing just over the top. Normally, i shoot Hornady ELD's or Norma. I've shot the Normal Golden Target Match out past 1 mile. I've also hit a soda can in 3 shots at 1,004 yards with the Norma 130 grain GTM and a soda can at 1,380 yards in 14 shots in a 15mph 90 degree crosswind. This is the first time i've shot this particular round and i was HIGHLY impressed. Getting 0.47 MOA out of a 5 shot group at 750 yards off a mountain top in the wind (probably around 8-10mph is my guess) in an uncomfortable position impresses the hell out of me. I shoot multiple times a week (3-5x's) and i know a kick ass round when i shoot one. Based on how i was shooting today, i think hitting a golf ball multiple times in just 5 attempts at 750 yards is definitely doable. I woudln't be surprised if i could hit it once in 10 shots at 1,000 yards either.

I've shot hornady's and bergers out of my tikka upr, both factory loads. Hornady's never faired as well. I believe just under 1 moa at 100. The factory bergers were .25" at 100. Amazing accuracy. Next I shot a 2 inch group at 460 with it. The steel plate was a swinger and still moving in between shots. With a still target and another go I believe I could definitely get it down to 1.5 inches or so. I cant recommend bergers enough. I think they were the 130gr. hybrid, meant to be shot out of an AR. I'll be using their 140s next week to see how those do. Nice groups man, those are insane!

@@camonly849 Yeah i watch the Australian channel, "Mark and Sam After Work" from time to time and i remember a few years back he basically stated that he moved away from Hornady to Berger's which i believe are his preferred bullet now. That's a pretty fun channel most of the time. I liked his idea of playing Tic Tac Toe with 2 Liter soda bottles at distance vs the wife.

What's the best for 6.5 grendel.?
@Rickkari7
@Rickkari7 Жыл бұрын
Hornady Black ELD match 123 grain factory ammo works the best in my AR with a 20 inch 6.5 Grendel Bear Creek Arsenal upper. Sighted it in at 50 yards sub MOA groups for a 200 yard dead hold. Took two deer opening week in TN this season both at 175 yards with this ammo. First was a double lung. Went 40 yards and died. Second was a double lung that hit low and blew apart both upper front legs and the heart. 10 yards and died. Also dropped a Coyote in its tracks at 30 yards same week. Good target and terminal ammo so far.

Why are you showing different ammo going into rifles? Your talking about Federal Match King, you show the 6.5 cartridges then someone loading a rifle with what is OVEOUSLY NOT 6.5 Creedmoor rounds! Why don't you FILM your test and not use stock footage all the time? time mark: 1:08 You do this with all your videos! You just show the stock footage from manufacturers' sites and then just regurgitate their advertisement. If you tested something why do you never show the test, the results, or footage?

No such thing as the most accurate factory ammo....... it all depends on matching the load to THE RIFLE. What you can do is try all the factory loads in a broken in rifle to see which gives the best reproducibility .. Hand loading almost always is a way to fine tune to each gun.... Too much hyperbola out there....

@@abelguerra8284 there are some folks (like myself) with long-term shoulder injuries that prefer to shoot a round that doesn't cause additional injuries to the shooter's shoulder. 7 mag is a great cartridge, no doubt. But there are often other reasons for choosing a lighter cartridge than being "recoil sensitive". I still shoot 3" magnum 12 ga slugs at hogs now and then, but it's rare. I'll trade you my separated shoulder and your 7mm mag if you'd like lol. In the meantime, I'll keep handloading ammo for my 6.5 Creed, 6.5 Grendel, .243, 7.62x39 and .270 hunting rifles that allow me to enjoy the activity while still allowing me to keep my injury from getting worse and return to work the next day. happy hunting
