Hey everyone, I flubbed up! In this video, I recommend using the Pixel wireless mic kit. Don't. You can hear noise in the recording. It slipped past me, because like a fool, I edited this video in a hurry and without headphones, and just didn't hear it. I've learned not to make that mistake twice, and now I ALWAYS edit with headphones. A good shotgun mic should do a better job, and I offer my sincerest apologies for anyone who bought the Pixel mic kit on my recommendation.

Thank you for doing this review!!! The comparison shot between the obsbot and the standard web cam was crazy how much more accurate not even the lighting was, nevermind the lack of fisheye warping that the standard webcams normally do.

Hi, question: does this camera allow for controlling PTZ from a different computer than what it's plugged into during operation? I'm a remote student and I'm looking to have PTZ controls while not present with the camera. Thanks!

Use OBS Studio's "record" option, and you're ready to go! Super easy. That's how I made this video.

A few questions: 1) Can the built-in mic be shut off so I can just use my regular mic setup? I assume this but I want to make sure. 2) If I stand it on top of my old-fashioned metallic file cabinet, using the magnetic base, will the servo be gentle enough so the camera doesn't fall over? 3) How long do you estimate the servo will last on this? A guess will be fine. Thanks for your very informative videos!

1. The mic input is controlled by the application in question in every program that I've ever seen, so you would choose this as your camera, and a different mic as your microphone in Zoom/Skype/OBS, etc. You can see and hear an example of where I used a different mic setup in this video kzfaq.info/get/bejne/f6qUZ6aJ1NSaZZ8.html 2. Yes, the camera is lightweight, but bottom heavy, and his has a rubber non-slip base. The base of the camera is actually metal, the mounting bracket is the magnet, but I've not needed to use the magnet for anything I've done, yet. 3. Sorry, I couldn't begin to guess, because I've never built or designed anything like this. The camera feels pretty well built, so it would seem to me it will last quite a while. Thanks for watching!

Re: #2, their website's page for this camera in the tech spec section says the camera's base itself is magnetic (in addition to the bracket being magnetic), so I was thinking I could just stand the cam by itself on top of my filing cabinet to avoid having to use my tripod.

Great review! I have one question tho. For my use case I am looking for a camera to livestream via OBS. You have shown that this wil work, but is it also possible to assign multiple scenes in OBS to different angle’s on the tiny? As an example: I have 3 different persons standing at a pre determined (fixed) position. Could i get the Tiny to automatically move from 1 person to the next by assigning a different scene to each “position”? If you could test this for me It would make my day.

You won't be able to control the different angles from this camera in OBS, because OBS would only see this camera as a single source, but, you can assign different pre-set positions for this camera in the OBSbot software and control the positions of the camera that way, you would just need to keep the Obsbot camera software open while you are feeding the camera into OBS Studio.

@Low Dough Tech I am curious how your tracking is now and over time. A couple of my friends that have gotten this said the osbot just stopped tracking them one day & only does it once in while.

I haven't had any trouble with mine, but, to be fair I use the presets a lot more than I use the tracking feature. Off topic, you have a really cool channel idea.

Hello!!! Can be OBSBOT used for augmented reality? like Panasonic AW-UE150 PTZ camera - it need to share Focus, aperure, pan, tilt and zoom data for intagration to realtime engine like a Unity / Unreal / etc... Does this possible with this web cam or OBSBOT Tail?

I'm pretty sure you can't, from what I've read, but I've never used the Trail, so I can't confirm anything.

how do I add the osbot to my zoom- it does not show up when I want to select it- I only see the facetime

Do you have any other applications that use a webcam open? If so you may need to close them, some applications lock priority on your webcam when open, so for example, make sure you have Facetime closed before opening Zoom. I hope that helps! :)

Does the wireless mic plug into the camera? Does the camera have a mic input? Or are you plugging the audio into your computer?

Hey Tom, the webcam does not have a mic input. I'm running the mic into the PC's 3.5mm mic input.

Yes, to a degree. It seems to recognize human "shapes" if that makes any sense.

It does not, that is a Pixel Wireless mic kit, which doesn't appear to be available anymore.

Pitching itself at about the same pricepoint as higher end Logitech Webcams and (imo) outperforming them in picture quality. Add features only available on expensive conference cams and this little thing has a very big place in the market. Nice. Audio was a bit laggy, probably due to the camera/mic combo, similarly refresh rate during panning, but hey, $199, shut up and take my money.

I didn't check out completely yet (applying cool off protocol) but it looks like they are offering free shipping worldwide. Living in Europe this is important although I will likely get hit with import fees.

You are correct. I just now pinned a comment and also put in the description NOT to buy the Pixel wireless mic kit. That audio sounds terrible. Sometimes the Pixel kit sounds fine, other times it picks up noise.
