I volunteer for a youth organization in Bridgeport CT called Bridgeport Caribe Youth Leaders and we take the honor roll students to many professional baseball and basketball games. We have had the privilege to get special recognition on the court from the NY Knicks, go watch the Knicks warm up and our kids got the chance to do a high five lineup as the Brooklyn Nets came out to the court. To see the joy and excitement that the kids feel is the best feeling one can have. Thanks to all of the great sportsmanship that so many show. This video is awesome

Even when I was a little kid watching the Oilers and Earl Campbell, I always enjoyed watching the competitors showing respect after the game. Win or lose, it was always cool to see. I remember Earl Campbell was gonna be at Fingers Furniture and my parents and I couldn't make it in time. I wrote Earl a letter the next day telling him how bummed I was and he sent me an autographed 8x10 color glossy which I still have displayed today. Skoal, brother.

@@gordonlove5121 Maybe I'm guilty of being an anecdote that is atypical, but growing up, into my teens and still a bit into my early 20's, it seemed watching sports was about the sport way more. I think the many years of observing this lends some credibility and weight to the anecdotal nature of this, but again, I could be wrong, maybe I missed that it was heavily weighted to SJW issues all along. To answer your last question: roughly 1975 to 1990. I went full on volunteering all over the world until 2002, so when I returned from that and started watching sports again, I started noticing the gradual change, but to me around 2016 forward it ramped up very heavily. I stopped watching pro sports around mid 2018, and the few times I've glanced at it since, it has been a lot of new emphasis that I didn't tune in to hear, so now I only watch UFC.
