Taking an in depth look at what is quite possibly the most dangerous shot ever played on match ball. The 2017 Canary Wharf classic shows Nick Matthew go for this incredible shot to win the championship.

Matthew was one of the pioneers of this shot which we almost never saw during the 80's, and 90's. Now almost everyone uses it regularly. Extremely high risk but also high rewards as we saw here.

the danger in playing that shot, at a club level, is that no one will appreciate you actually meant to play that shot 🙂

Absolutely. Plus, a novice referee may even give a stroke to the opponent.

The saving grace for Nick was the fact that Fares had his racket in a forehand position. It wasn't a dangerous shot I'd call it a lucky well executed gamble...lol

I think you need to get former grasp of the English language. Don’t get me wrong, Americans have never been great at this, but this is not a “dangerous” shot. A dangerous shot would be continuing to play a ball instead of stopping to ask for a let when the ball is close to an opponents head. What you have a shown is simply a “low-percentage” shot, but it’s played very commonly nowadays to mix things up. Nothing really special about it

He means dangerous in the sense of risky, it's overly dramatic but I don't think it means an entire country of more than three hundred million people needs to adjust the way they speak because of your standards.

Soon as I saw it was about Matthew ( and not about Asal trying to eliminate Serme ) I knew which sort of "dangerous" was in play. No "faulty" grasp on show here but perhaps some proof reading issues?
