Yeah, I don't know if any player on the Sox is actually a 'disappointment.' I don't know how much expectation there really was for anyone (outside of the annual disappointment due to players being injured..... however, that's also pretty typical for Moncada, Eloy & Robert). I guess Benintendi & Vaughn would be considered disappointments, but the expectations weren't super high for them to start with.

Bo Bichette being one of the best hitters from 2021-23 and pretty much vanishing this year has been very dissapointing. Though, he has been turning it around lately.

Acuña was getting better, but got injured, JRod started slow last year & finished very good, so he's doin' the same in 2024, Arenado was not good last year so not surprise, in conclussion only Goldsmith could've been on the video.

No J Rod is wild. You had him in your top 10 on your top 50 players list. A sub 675 ops is unacceptable for a player of that caliber two months into the season

I think with him he really only needs to clean up his chases and launch angle and you'll see much better slugging results, but he's still making good contact and has a 1.1 WAR because of his defense like he says in the video. If he can't clean those things up by the end of the year then he can be on this list, but these other guys have kinda completely fell apart whereas with JRod it's only a couple things.

As he said, good defense and his trends suggest he's not as bad. Disappointing but not *the most* disappointing.

@@bmac4Bregman still plays good defense & is on this list, and his expectations aren’t as high because he’s not as good as J Rod. If we’re going by trends, then why put Bregman on because he played better in the second half of last season as well

J Rod should be on here. He hasn’t been quite as bad as some of the others, but a 95 ops + for a guy who was in Marc’s top 10 on his top 50 players list? That’s definitely worthy of a spot. Add Goldschmidt as well

Gleyber Torres is another player who has been disappointing. He didn’t have sky high expectations or anything, but he’s still putting up career low numbers. He often just doesn’t seem to put in all effort on the field or running the bases. He’s the Yankees most disappointing player

I am not sure if I missed anything about this topic but it feels like MLB has changed the ball yet again. MLB league average ops is still below .700. Teams with a higher ops this year seem to be the exception and their production could be a product of their environment, stadium etc…. Is there a reason that the noise about the “baseball changing” is much quieter this year as opposed to years past? Just my thoughts! Have a great day everyone!

@@elasmojonesbecause he wasn’t ready for major league pitching, and since then his confidence tanked. Only reason he was called up, was because Al Avila, and Chris Ilitch set a timeline on their rebuild, and they felt calling him up justified that timeline, rather than giving him more time in the minors

@@elasmojones Idk, maybe a sub .400 slugging for a power first bat and less than 2 seasons worth of minor league ball playing time wouldn't translate well to the majors. Maybe, of course.

As a braves I can say our entire team is down outside of ozuna, Max and Ozzie. But really have to call out Matt Olsen as being poor hitter.

We just need to admit that with all of the pitching injuries in baseball and the historically awful hitting, baseball is in an horrendous state. Baseball is the worst it's ever been. So many stars should not be struggling this much.

Bo’s numbers are still fairly abysmal despite his collection of hits recently, just shows how rough he started. Vlad Jr certainly has been playing better and got the OPS around .800 or so. Not Vlad numbers but not bad either. Not a lot of power from him with homers, but if he becomes someone who just gets hits and on base, that’s fine.

I wanna like him cuz he does seem like a good dude but not after his comments earlier in the year trying to tell fans how to fan and not to boo. Guy had been here for all of 5 minutes and thinks he can tell people how to fan??? I know he meant well and was just trying to be a good clubhouse guy but still. You don't get to come in here, and tell a very frustrated fanbase that they're not allowed to voice their displeasure.

I would honestly consider Corey Seager to be on here as well. The Rangers had high expectations coming into this season, especially with Corey Seager being arguably the best shortstop. He could be one of the factors to the Rangers Down-Fall.

Not that this guy has been amazing in past seasons, but as an O’s fan, Cedric Mullins is killing me. His defense is great, but the only barrel he’s caught all season happened to make contact with Jorge Mateo’s head, sending him out with a concussion.

I haven’t watched a ton of cubs games, but I was watching yesterday vs my cardinals and it just seems like he’s having trouble seeing pitches. Kyle Gibson threw 4 pitches not even close to the zone and he swung at both. If he can start recognizing pitches I think he’ll be back on track.

Bregman is my starting third baseman in Fantasy baseball and I am still easily in first place with him being a huge contributor the last 3-4 weeks. he did really suck at the star but I think he doesn't deserve this, he seems here to stay now.

There's a lot of Cubs that should be on this fn list. As for Dansbers, I think he's probably in his head. He missed time due to injury. Came back, and still performed poorly. Confidence. That's what it is. It's hard to send him down, but I think you need to let him figure out how to see the ball and have quality AB's, and most of all, gain some confidence.

Ryan Presley has been horrible as well, has 4 blown saves and is not reliable, he has a 5.24 era in 24 games, and it’s obvious that every time you put him in a 1 run or 2 run game there’s a 90% chance he’s gonna blow it
