This expandable iron farm runs at a base efficiency of 99% and is easily upgradeable to 100%. Efficiency refers to the amount of ingots per villager pocket.
The 3-layer design is about 5600 ingots/hr for 1.18.2 and below, and 4900 ingots/hr for 1.19, but is easily expandable for whatever production you desire. Java only**
0:38 Materials Required
0:44 Size & Location

2:47 Populate Villagers & Zombies
3:43 Spawning Platform & Portals
5:54 Redstone Portion
10:43 Nether Portion
12:08 How to use the farm

A few tips for future tutorials: 1. It's much easier to use North/South/East/West. 2. It's better to mute the hostile mobs when recording. I'm playing as I watch, and I thought the mobs were in my game, hahaha.... 3. When laying out dimensions, it's much easier if the temp block has a pattern that makes it easier to count. Textures like Copper Blocks are great for this, textures like Wool are awful for this. Specifically I'm looking at 2:03. But I also want to say that I appreciated you laying out the measurements in editing! That helps a lot, thank you!! Other than that though, thank you so much for this awesome tutorial!!

This tutorial format is better than block by block imo. Frequent zoom-outs of the part we’re building, dimensions, and more explaining the concepts behind the build. It allows an experienced builder to work faster since I know what im trying to do. Compared to block by block tutorials where I need to pause every 3 seconds to memorize the next step because there’s no context.

@larskuhlmann5571
@larskuhlmann5571 5 ай бұрын
There's a very easy way to simplify the killing chamber and item collection. Just make the portal on the nether side a standard 2x3 portal and surround it with blocks and 1 lava or lava cauldron at the top, so the golems immediately take suffocation, lava and fire damage. When they die, the item drops are instanly sent back through the portal. To collect the items you can make another small portal in the middle of the iron farm at the same height as the nether side portal (usually below all the other portals). If the nether side portal is below the surface level of your overworld, you can put the collection portal on the surface instead, as it just needs to be the closest to the nether y-coordinate of all portals in the overworld area. Under the collection portal put a hopper minecart and you can easily collect all the items in the overworld so you don't have to make an access to the nether side for item collection at all.

great video and tutorial, I would suggest though, rather than saying negatixe x positive z, just show on the birds eye view the north east south and west as it's easier to see where the next block needs to go, I found myself wasting a lot of time constantly hitting F3 just to see which way the negatives and positives were. I use a minimap mod, so I always know which way north etc. is. Again, Great Video

I built this in my single player survival world as just a single layer/module. It's very efficient and produces plenty for my needs. The only issue I've had with it is that the zombies sometimes fall through the blocks they're standing on. If anyone has any ideas as to why this is happening, I'd love to know. My suspicion is that it has something to do with unloading the Overworld as this seems to - at least anecdotally - occur the most when I'm going between the Nether and the Overworld a lot. Managed to accidentally offset the blocks moved with pistons so that when one is up the other is down. Achieved this by simply placing the blocks at different times of the piston rotation. This kept the farm loaded in the Nether for quite a while. Maybe something like 5 minutes before the Overworld finally unloaded. I'm guessing that the timer is just enough to keep sending an entity through before the Overworld unloads, but if there's any delay it goes past the timer. Might build another layer just to keep the Overworld loaded at all times, seeing that just two is enough when offsetting the zombies on each layer. Three would be total overkill unless I'm planning on doing a huge project with Iron Blocks.
