I'm from Panama City, Florida. We got hit by a Cat 5 hurricane 4 years ago. Scariest thing that I've ever been through. It looked like a massive bomb went off afterwards. Pine trees and telephone polls were snapped like toothpicks. You literally couldn't see the roads because the trees were laid down everywhere. It was insane

Hurricane Michael leveled Panama City .... Mexico beach... Pretty much wiped them off the map... I'm glad you're OK daylight. There's one thing that sticks out about the story of hurricane Michael and that's that couple that were killed like months later as they were cleaning up that baseball park the father was getting electrocuted and the mother tried to help and the mother got electrocuted and the son tried to help and he almost died too but he made it.... how sad can it get ( I don't even live in Florida by the way I'm just a hurricane tracker from home... I live in California currently)

Been through a derecho before. July 1, 1997 a derecho went through my then hometown of Maple Lake, MN. We had winds sustained at 115 mph with gusts up to 150 mph. We were lucky on our energy coop we got power back in 18 hours whilst 85% of the city was without power for 7 days. The oddest thing I remember about that storm was the sound the wind made. First off it hit as one big wall right as the rain started and lasted at peak intensity for 45 minutes. The sound it made was an unearthly loud low hum almost like the sound of an idling diesel or a generator. Only after power came back on did we realise how loud that wind was. In order to listen to minute by minute updates we had the half basement TV on, and when the power came back on we realised we had to turn that TV all the way up to 100 to even barely be able to hear it over the wind. Who knew that simple wind could be that incredibly loud or low frequency.

I believe that many people who survive a hurricane/typhoon/cyclone recall the noise most of all. I have been fortunate to miss being in the middle of one of these storms but even the margins of them are noisy., It is known that the low and ultra low frequencies generated by these storms can have an effect on human brains and emotional states.🦘

The French typhon has been attested with the meaning of whirlwind or storm since 1504.[8] The Oxford English Dictionary[9] cites Hindustani ṭūfān and Chinese tai fung giving rise to several early forms in English. The earliest forms in English-"touffon", later "tufan", "tuffon", and others-derive from Hindustani ṭūfān, with citations as early as 1588. From 1699 appears "tuffoon", later "tiffoon", derived from Chinese with spelling influenced by the older Hindustani-derived forms. The modern spelling "typhoon" dates to 1820, preceded by "tay-fun" in 1771 and "ty-foong", all derived from the Chinese tai fung. The Hindustani source word ṭūfān ("violent storm"; Perso-Arabic: طوفان, Devanagari: तूफ़ान)[10] comes from the Persian tūfān (توفان/طوفان) meaning "storm" which comes from the verb tūfīdan (توفیدن/طوفیدن), "to roar, to blow furiously".[citation needed] The word طوفان (ṭūfān) is also derived from Arabic as coming from ṭāfa, to turn round.[9] The Chinese source is the word tai fung or taifeng[10] (simplified Chinese: 台风; traditional Chinese: 颱風; pinyin: táifēng). The modern Japanese word, 台風 (たいふう, taifuu); as well as the modern Korean word 태풍 (taepung) are also derived from Chinese. The first character is normally used to mean "pedestal" or "stand", but is actually a simplification of the older Chinese character 颱, which means "typhoon"; thus the word originally meant "typhoon wind". In Vietnamese, "大 風" (đại phong) translates literally to "strong winds", but the phrase "bão nhiệt đới" (暴熱帶 'Ferocious tropical storm') is used instead. The Ancient Greek Τυφῶν (Typhôn, "Typhon") is related and has secondarily influenced the word.[10] The Persian term may originally have been influenced by the Greek word.[9][11] Gotta love wikipedia

Correct me if I’m wrong but the domes seemed to hold up very well in the tornado. It was the glass that broke. And they weren’t tents that were ripped to shreds. It looked like a solid building with a damaged interior because of the broken windows. Also the Mongolian tents you showed were not the same buildings seen in the tornado. Usually I like your videos but the commentary on the domes and tornado seemed to be really misleading.
